Introduction
This is Chumathra Govt. UP School. These pages are dedicated to the alumni who have passed through this college, to the mentors who have molded many great and ordinary people, to the good natives, to the parents who have maintained this institution from time to time, and to all the loved ones who have nurtured and nurtured this school..
History
The school was established on May 29, 1961 in the Chumathra village of the Thiruvalla Municipality of Pathanamthitta District. Government UP School Chumathra is the only school located in the fourth ward of Thiruvalla Municipality. Initially it was functioning in classes 1 to 4 and was upgraded to UP school in the academic year 1968-69.As a result of the efforts of the Chumathra Punnakunnam Village Development Committee with the objective of establishing a school in the country, in the academic year 1961-62. . There was an order to start school as per No. 304 / Education (). 3 temporary sheds were built and classes started. The first headmaster of the school was Sri Ramakrishna Pillai. The UP section was started in the 1968-69 academic year.
Physical amenities
Our school exemplifies glorious activities in academic and extracurricular activities. The computer lab comprising of 4 computers and 5 laptops is the pride of the school. The science, math and social science labs, funded by Hon. T .N. Seema MP's Local Development Fund, provide excellent motivation for learning. . The library of 2000 books, funded by Bahu Rajya Sabha member P.J Kurian, elevates children and mothers to the heights of knowledge, value and enjoyment. The lab materials required for the science lab were sponsored by Thottungal Ajith and Sudheer. The necessary furniture was donated to the lab by Thomathra Kovoor Punnoose Thomas. Tile-packed classrooms, smart classrooms, playgrounds, bicycles, dining hall, clean kitchens, drinking water, and amenities provide a good and satisfying learning environment for children.
