IMMUNITY
The world is grappling with an invisible, deadly enemy, trying to understand how to withstand the threats posed by the deadly virus. Covid-19 or coronavirus was declared as a global pandemic by World Health Organisation. While the whole world is grappling with imminent changes, that this virus poses to humanity, there are certain measures that individuals can adopt to fight this pandemic. While it is crucial to maintain personal hygiene by washing hands frequently using alcohol based sanitizers, wearing surgical masks, avoid touching nose or mouth etc, it is very important to boost our immunity which is paramount in this juncture. Individuals should quit bad habits like smoking, consuming alcohol etc, which is a threat to our immune system. Another important measure is to improve our diet by regularly consuming protein rich food, vegetables, fruits and food rich in other essential vitamins. This is crucial in boosting immunity as food has a key aspect in determining our overall health. A proper 7-8 hours of sleep is essential to boost our immunity as it slows down the functions of our body which has a direct impact on immunity. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water to stay hydrated is essential to boost our immunity, as hydration flushes out the toxins in our body thereby lowering the chance of getting affected by the disease. A good diet should be followed by a regular exercise routine since even a light exercise releases the toxins from our body and it helps to improve metabolism which has direct correlation with immune system. As we are all under lockdown ( home quarantine ) to fight this pandemic, there is a chance to develop anxiety and depression due to boredom which leads to mental stress. As there are prolonged periods of staying indoors, we should practice meditation or engage ourselves in hobbies or activities like reading, drawing etc, which helps in boosting our productivity along with immunity. While the battle against the deadly virus is fought by our healthcare workers, police force etc, let us contribute our part to society by staying indoors, boosting immunity and following the hygiene protocol. _Let's Break the Chain_
