| Anakkayam GMLP School is situated at Pulliyilangadi in Anakkayam Gramapanchayath of Malappuram District. The School was established in 1884 in a private building. It was started as mono teacher school. It became a well structured and organised school, having classes from 1-5, in 1912. But later, as a part of policy, when the government put away 5std the higher class became 4std.

| In 1960s the school building became weak and the school was transplanted to a Madrasa buildingnearby. (A place for Islamic religious studies.) A person donated a plot of 60 cents for the school. The government built a new building, that we see today, and the school transplanted to it in 1972.

| The school records of hundred years back says, the students from rich and noble family, girls, scheduled caste and other deprived poor class students studied together. No caste, gender, religious discriminations were found. Being an ancient educational institution, the school played a vital role in the socio cultural aspects of the locality. It reinforced nearby villagers also. It is counted as the mother institutions of the area.
