CORONA AND ME-THE NATURE
The layers of dust have settled on me.
Am saturated with the sound of horns and loudspeakers.
I stand the mute witness of my own painful destruction,
with no court to give me justice.
No person to empathise,
None to play with me or rejoice in my beauty.
I remain deserted and lonely.
Suddenly I notice a change.
The roads have become deserted
The honking horns have disappeared.
The poisonous fumes around have dissipated.
Slowly I realize, the people are under the menace of the corona.
They are staying back at home to escape the clutches of the corona.
As days pass by I feel refreshed and healthier.
The black soot over me has been washed away by the summer drizzle,
My body has become vibrant,
and my lungs are inhaling fresh air.
I see joy around me.
A father is tying a swing for his child on my branch,
Children are plucking mangoes from my branches,
The elders are sitting in my shadow telling stories to their dear ones........
Oh happy happy times are here again!
Me rejuvenated,
They reunited,
All happy and healthy,
Though it took a virus to make it happen
yet together we will break the chain.......
