Environmental hygiene Environmental hygiene plays a vital role in the strength of our immunity. The primary step for environmental hygiene is to dispose garbage properly and having a good sanitary system which helps in treating sewage water. Environmental hygiene is connected with our immunity. When the environment gets polluted through poor waste disposal, sewage water or garbage, it fuels the uncontrolled growth of micro organisms and viruses consequently affecting human and animals thus affecting the strength of our immunity. Poorly maintained unhygienic places such as markets, grocery shops etc are the birth places of harmful diseases that can cause devastating epidemics like the recent Corona virus. There is another factor that affects the environmental hygiene -Pollutants. There are different kinds of pollutants that affect different kinds of elements. Carbon dioxides, methane, nitrous oxides etc are green house gases emitted by vehicles, factories and electric devices like Refrigerators and air conditioners. These gases pollute the air and cause different respiratory diseases like asthma, bronchitis and lung cancer. Other pollutants like insecticides, herbicides, domestic wastes, chemical compound, electronic waste etc pollute water and earth. People who can't afford water treatment services will use water from the polluted water bodies and it causes lots of diseases like Amoebiases, diarrhea etc. These water, air and earth pollutants destroy the environmental hygiene. Our environment is a gift meant to be protected. To reduce the emissions we must repair the vehicles regularly and clean the emission tanks of factories. We can also use the electric cars to replace regular ones. We must prevent deforestation and soil erosion and encourage afforestation. We should also dispose waste properly without contaminating water bodies. Only when the environment is clean we will be safe.
