Wiki Loves Schools is a campaign to collect and add high-quality, freely licensed images and other media of educational institutions around the world to Wikimedia Commons. By doing so, we aim to enrich school articles on Wikipedia and create a comprehensive visual record of schools for everyone to use.
For this first edition, we are specifically focusing on schools in the state of Kerala, India.
Goals
- Enrich Wikipedia: Add visual context to school articles, making them more engaging and informative.
- Build a Visual Database: Help create a valuable, open-access collection of educational resources for researchers, students, and historians.
- Celebrate Education: Showcase the unique architecture, campus life, and events of schools in your community.

What to Upload?
- Exterior photos: Front views, unique architectural details, and wide shots of the school building and campus.
- Interior shots: Photos of classrooms, libraries, laboratories, gymnasiums, and auditoriums.
- Student life: Images of students in school activities, sports, or assemblies (with proper consent where required by local laws).
- Artifacts: Images of historical plaques, trophies, or unique items related to the school's history.
- Videos: Short videos showcasing school life or events.

Rules & Guidelines
- All media must be Self-taken and self-uploaded
- Photos must be of a real school (LP/UP/HS/HSS or related activity of thing).
- All uploads must be under a free license (CC-BY-SA 4.0 is the default).
- If photographing people, be mindful of local consent laws and respect privacy.
- Photos contain proper title and description for the media file (Must specify the institution name in caption / description)
- Add school code while uploading the file. If the image is not associated to a a particular school, then give 99999 as school code for such images.
- Timeline : 16th September 2025 - 31st March 2026
