COVID 19...VACCINE,THE LIGHT OF HOPE We all know about corona virus or covid 19 pandemic. It started by the end of 2019 but the chances of spreading was high because of the festival gathering and many other celebrations of New Year We all must be proud to be an Indian as India is a global leader to tackle the coronavirus. We are distributing hydroxychlorioquine(medicine used for malaria) to many countries for using as the medicine for covid 19 .As it made so many corona cases negative in China and some other countires . Scientists, doctors and health organizations are researching an apt medicine for corona virus . All world are anxiously waiting for corona virus vaccine. But it is not a simple thing. It takes many years of research .But the development in technology and human brain helped in developing it in one and a half year time . The development of a proper vaccine takes three phases . The vaccine is tested first in animals for assuring safety of vaccine . • Phase 1 : If the new vaccine is successful in animal trials , it is tested in 25-50 persons to assure the safety in humans. • Phase 2: To assure immunization immunogeneration dose size (schedule) in hundreds of people. • Phase 3 :Vaccine is tested in thousands of people to ensure the effectiveness of the vaccine against the disease and If there is any rarer side effects. If the vaccine is successful in the above three phases ,they will proceed to mass production of medicine. Pune based serum institute of india ,the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, has collaborated with two American companies to develop a covid-19 vaccine. The covid19 Vaccine will be the first of its kind to be made in India (Adar C Poonawalla ,CEO, Serum Institute of India The Week ,March 29 2020) .The reaserch by American company named MODENA gives the socity a hope as it had already made success in animal trials and testing vaccine in the first phase. The researchers are expecting to get the result of the phase one trials in sept - oct months(Dr T.S. Balganesh, Medical Microbiologist Malayalam Manorama daily 20/4/2020). These are the news that gives the light of hope for us. But it may take 18 months to 2 years to develop a proper covid 19 vaccine .Till that time we must beware of Corona virus .Now we are in safe zone. If we become less guarded by thinking that the virus will not affect us it will overpower us .We can see its scenario in China ,America and Italy. So we must live very careful and obey the rules set by our government and medical organizations untill a proper vaccine is developed and the Corona virus comes under control .
