Established for the children of the employees working at the rubber estate of the British company ‘Pears Lasli’, it was handed over to the state education department on November 1st 1955.</big> <big>Located in an area covering 2.80 acres (Survey no. 49, Akampadam village), the classes start from pre primary till class 4 and contain a total of 385 students. Of these students, 72 are of the scheduled tribes’ category, 20 are of the schedules castes’ category while 160 students are classified as minority (Muslim or Christian). <big>A Child Rights Convention (CRC) project under the direction of the Lund University based in Sweden and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) is currently underway in this school. There have been regular visits from foreign representatives to see the workings and functioning of the school.
