ജി.എച്ച്.എസ്‌. മുന്നാട്/അക്ഷരവൃക്ഷം/ EDAKKAL CAVE

EDAKKAL CAVE It was my first journey to Wayanad and then to the popular Edkkal Cave .... I was so excited to see the cave. We were four groups headed by four teachers... There were lots of shops along the way until we reached the first step of the cave.Travelling a bit further we were greeted by crowded bamboos on either side of the road .The monkey team watching through the bamboo pools was also an intresting sight.Walking and getting to the first step of the cave was very heartwarming. The plants and trees on both sides were enjoyable as we climbed the steps.There were people on the way for sight seeing. We climbed on the top and rested on a rock for a while ,then we decended into the cave..there we could see a cave formed by a heavy boulder adding a fissure in the rock .Something was written on that rocks.The guide helped us to understand all what was written. Edakkal cave is famous for its pictorical paintings,which is always a miracle.Inside the cave we could see two chambers, carvings of human, animal figures and objects used by human on the walls. It was a wonderful journey. We spend a few hours at there. People from diffrent part of the are flowing there as rivers . It was a very enjoyable visit ...
