"The Paradoxical Environment" We celebrate world environmental day on June 5,for me it is my birthday on that day. We all know on these days we all are quarandined in our house. We all are bored because of virus named covid-19 which has emerged at an animal market at Wuhan in China. With a couple of months it spread to nook and corner of our earth and our 1 lakh of people are died. It's grotesque situation that the world has ever seen. The Economist alleged the the recession after this epidemic will be much more than the recession happened in 2008 . At this moment I would like to bring your attention towards one of the serious issue that the world is facing that is environmental crisis. When I thought of environmental crisis the words of American cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead have touched me a lot that is "we don't have a society if we destroy our environment". Now we have lot of time just scrutinize this words then you will understand the significance of this words. Yes of course we don't have a society if we are destroying our environment by deforestation sand mining etc..and our Kerala has been devastated by 2 floods is due to our over exploitation towards the nature.So we understood the significance of our environment that only way is to conserve our environment. Because for the last two adjacent floods have destroyed our houses, farm fields etc..very badly when the flood come on 2018 we thought it won't repeat but our thoughts were quite antagonistic . This year we cannot proclaim that it won't come even if it is coming we have taken necessary precautions and our government and other social groups have planted many trees plants to get rid of this great disaster. This flood is an epitome for the words of Margaret Mead. • How we became like this? know in our country there are many rules to environment the first one is coastal area act which we the Malayalees have heard by Murder Maradu flat case, that is our Supreme Court ordered to demolish the five flat complexes which have built against coast coastal Regulation Act. This type of buildings are built by many business tycoons they are inspiring the common man to do such things. Many other business tycoons ,ministers several other people are disobeying the laws they are the only reason for doing this. The person who made itself is disobeying then how can can a state be developed, but now it has amended lot. • The eyes are opened Nowadays our eyes are opened when compared to olden days there is a great change in our attitude towards nature our government , our laws has amended lot. •The well-known environmentalists The first name that comes to us is a 17 year old girl who became popular by her speech in UNO about Nature yes she is in the list of hundred powerful women in the world she is Greta Thunberg many other Indian environmentalist Sunita Narain, Menaka Gandhi etc.. A Keralite who played a tremendous role in establishing Society for Environmental education Kerala (SEEK)Mr.John C Jacob. Because of this dedicated people our Earth is like this otherwise there won't be trees ,lakes in the universe. •How can we protect our environment? The protection of our environment commence from each and every individual where does briefly look what are the major things that we should do to conserve our nature. plant more number of trees say no to plastic save natural resources use public transports •Can we become an environmentalist? Nowadays our Eyes are opened and many of them have amended from mining mafias to environmental conservation .We the children can become an environmentalist the perfect epitome is Greta Thumberg whom I mentioned above and there are several ways such as social media for making your opinion . I would like to remember the words of David Habred Wills the sports Caster "Don't use social media to impress people use it to create an impact on people". when you are typing something in your social media please keep these words in your mind. •Significance of the title Thought of the title I got the title the paradoxical environment word paradoxical means the odd one that means our Earth consists of many things but our environment is just unique it cannot be compared with anything on the earth.
