Diseases and Social Change Why do or how do diseases occur? Most of the people know the answer but still there are some people who don't . The answer is, when the ecology becomes severely unbalanced , diseases occur if our immunity is in trouble . We all know what immunity is .It is the abilitybof our body to defend diseases . How does our immunity get damaged ? There are so many reasons for that . Nutritional deficiency , lack of safe drinking water , mental problems etc are some of them. How does nutritional deficiency occur? It is due to the lack of availability of sufficient nutritious food . Why don't we get sufficient nutritious food ? It is because of the social inequality . Some people in the world get enough food , safe drinking water , shelter , clothes , education , health care , employment , wages or salary , living in clean environment and so on ; while some are in poverty or severe poverty in many ways .This is called social inequality . We all know that most of the unnatural deaths in the world are due to poverty . Social inequality makes poverty . Immunity will be in trouble due to poverty . The problems in immunity can cause diseases . Diseases can lead to death. If we can solve the problems of social inequality we can increase our immunity , and hence we can prevent most of the diseases. In brief , getting diseases is a health issue ; and at the same time it is also a social issue . So the solution is to change the society from social inequality into social equality .
