Aptitude Test 2024

Aptitude test of 2024 - 27 batch was conducted on June 13 for 58 students in 21 systems. 77 children wrote the aptitude test. One child was absent. Result uploaded in LKMS system. The exam included various questions in IT technology general knowledge, animation and programming sections. 40 children received section.

UNIFORM AND ID CARD DISTRIBUTION

Date - 15-08-2024 Manjeshwara: The KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education) distributed identity cards and Uniforms to high school students at the Little Kites IT Club. The ID card and Uniforms will be given to those who participate in all the activities of Little Kites, the largest student IT community in India. There are 40 students in S.A.T.High School who are members of Little Kites IT Club. Kite Leader Anoop handed over the identity card and Uniforms to School Manager Sri Prashanth Hegde and Headmistress Smt. Surekha Mallya M. Little Kites Master Kiran Kumar, PTA President Abdul Basheer,Sunil Bhat and Little Kites Mistress Shushma Bangera G were also present on the occasion.

PRELIMINARY CAMP

One day preliminary camp 2024 for children of 40 Little Kites Batch was conducted on 16/08/2024, friday. The class started at exactly 10 am. The class was conducted by Manjeshwara sub district Mater trainner PRIYA CH. The children were divided into 8 groups using words related to advanced technology in order to arouse children's curiosity in technology. The one-day training is very important as the first meeting of the members.The main objective of this one-day training is to shed light on the diverse activities that each Little Kites will be involved in during the next two years. Activities in the camp were conductedin Different sessions. Such as group formation, Activities Quiz competition, LK Unit Discussion, Scratch Programming, Animation, Robotics , course briefing, responsibilities of Little Kites members. Then various activities were given on group basis and the groups were awarded points. Children were introduced to various topics like animation, Little Kites objectives, game using scratch three, robotics, etc. Kite master Kiran Kumar thanked everyone. The training program ended at exactly 2.30 o'clock. Little Kites Master Kiran Kumar, and Little Kites Mistress Sushma G Bangera were also present on the occasion

Parent conference Meeting:

A meeting of parents of Little Kites children of 8th class was held on Friday 16/08/2024 at 2.30pm at Main Hall. Manjeshwara sub district Mater trainner PRIYA CH  took the class on what Little Kites is, its objectives, school activities and curriculum. This meeting helped to make the parents aware of the various activities of Little Kites Children's School. Joint SITC Smt. Sowmya K welcomed the camp which was Inaugurated by Head Mistress Smt, Surekha Mallya M. The program was presided over by PTA President Abdull Basheer congratulated. Little kite Mistress Bangera thanked everyone.

UBUNTU GRAMA PROJECT

Little Kites students conducted a door-to-door campaign to raise awareness about Ubuntu software and organized installation sessions for those interested.

The Little Kites students document every school activity as news, edit it using Kden Live software, and upload the final video to YouTube at the end of each month.

SCHOOL ONAM CAMP

IT-Based Workshop at SAT Educational Institution

On the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Shri Math Anantheshwara Temple Schools, a two-day IT-based workshop was inaugurated at SAT School under the joint sponsorship of the school’s Little Kites and Team Shastra. The event was presided over by CA Sunil Bhat, Chairman of the School Centenary Committee. The workshop was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by District Education Officer Dinesh V, who spoke about how Kerala's education system has become high-tech and how such workshops strengthen the technological skill development programs in public educational institutions. These programs aid in the overall development of students for their future stages in life. He wished for the centenary celebrations to remain ever-memorable and mentioned that the introduction of digital surveys for students would take place in the coming days.

Kasargod District IT Coordinator, Roji Joseph, spoke at the event and launched the SAT Educational Institution’s YouTube news channel. He expressed appreciation for the district-level award won by the school in the state division and wished them success in achieving a state-level award in the coming academic year. Mehul Kini, head of Team Shastra, provided details about the two-day workshop.

The dais was graced by Prashant Pai, Treasurer of Shri Math Anantheshwara Temple, School Manager Prashant Hegde, Higher Secondary Principal Suman Ail, School Headmistress Surekha Mallya M, Abdul Basheer B, President of the PTA's Higher Secondary Division, Vice President Ayesha, and member Ibrahim, all of whom conveyed their well-wishes. Little Kites students led the prayer, while Beena, representing the Centenary Welcome Committee and a teacher at the school, extended a warm welcome. Shanteri Shenai, a teacher and Centenary Committee member, concluded with a vote of thanks.

Little Kites: The Information Hub at S.A.T School's 100th Anniversary"

On the occasion of Sat School's Centenary celebration, the Little Kites students were stationed at the help desk, offering information about the competitions, their venues, and food arrangements to teachers and students from visiting schools.

ONE DAY SUMMER CAMP (Media documentation and Kdenlive video editing)

A one-day summer camp for the Little Kites unit of S.A.T. School, Manjeshwara, was held on May 24 and 25. The camp was formally inaugurated by the school headmistress, Mrs. Surekha Mallya. Mr. Lakshmisha, a dedicated teacher from Sri Vidyavardhaka High School, Miyapadavu, served as the resource person for the event. Interactive sessions on media documentation and Kdenlive video editing provided valuable hands-on experience for the participants. A total of 38 enthusiastic students from the Little Kites unit actively took part in the camp. The program was successfully conducted with the wholehearted support of the school’s Kite Masters, Mr. Kiran Kumar and Mrs. Sushma Bangera

Medical Camp

As part of the SAT School Centenary Celebrations 2025, a free health check-up camp will be organized on the first Sunday of this coming January 9th in collaboration with the SAT School Centenary Committee and Yenapoya Ayurveda Medical College Hospital.Our school Littlekite Students are participated this camp.

Robo and Animation Fest 2025

Little Kites Robotic Hackathon

A total of 1,627 robotic Arduino kits have been distributed across the district to facilitate robotic experiments for Little Kites students. To encourage maximum utilization of these kits, it has been decided to organize a Robotic Fest in schools under the leadership of Little Kites.

As part of this initiative, all schools have been instructed to conduct the Little Kites Creation Festival on February 12, 2025. The top five teams from each sub-district will then compete in the Little Kites Hackathon on February 15, 2025, at the ASAP Center, in collaboration with LBS Engineering College. District winners will be honored with cash prizes, mementos, and certificates.

Students of SAT High School also actively participated in this event. They made the best use of their time and resources, engaging in programming and animations to bring their robotic projects to life.

A Robotics & Animation Fest was held on Ananthavidhya Hall @ 12.02.2025 with the help of Littlekite. There was an opportunity to watch various animations and play games using PictoBlox. Along with this, there was an opportunity to see game animations and robotic products prepared by the children of Little Kites.

In addition, other children were provided with opportunities to learn basic programming lessons. In addition, UP and HS students were trained to do animation on Open Toonz. It was decided to provide further training to interested children.

School Wiki

Contacted for school wiki updating and gave classes to some members of Little. Explained what school wiki is and the need to update it. They assured to do it responsibly. They learned how to upload pictures in school wiki and how to resize pictures. Collected late school pictures and resized them. Alona and Rosemary were tasked. Janet took responsibility for uploading the pictures. The other children were also ready to write reports and copy them to school later.

Little Kites Summer Camp – May 24, 2025

A one-day Little KITE Camp was successfully conducted at SAT High School, Manjeshwara, on 24th May 2025. The camp aimed to enhance students’ IT skills, with a special focus on video editing using the open-source software Kdenlive.

The event was inaugurated by our esteemed School Manager, Sri Prashanth Hegde, who addressed the students and encouraged them to embrace technology as a powerful tool for learning and creativity. The School Headmistress, Smt. Surekha Mallya, also spoke at the event, inspiring the students with motivational words and extending her best wishes for the success of the camp. The welcome speech was delivered by Sri Kiran Kumar (SITC).

The primary objective of the camp was to introduce students to the fundamentals of video editing, fostering their interest in digital media and strengthening their IT knowledge. Under the guidance of Resource Person (RP) Sri Lakshmeesha B, the sessions were delivered effectively, ensuring smooth conduct and active learning throughout the day.

Students participated enthusiastically in hands-on sessions focused on various video editing techniques using the Kdenlive software. They were assigned tasks that included capturing video clips and editing them using the tools and methods demonstrated during the camp.

Smt. Sushma Bangera G, Little KITE Mistress, and Sri Kiran Kumar, Little KITE Master, were present throughout the day, assisting and mentoring the students at every stage. Smt. Soumya also graced the occasion with her presence and support.

The camp concluded with students sharing their feedback, expressing enthusiasm and appreciation for the knowledge and skills they had gained. As a token of gratitude, Smt. Sushma Bangera G delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the school, acknowledging the efforts of all the mentors and participants, especially RP Lakshmeesha Sir, for making the camp a grand success.

Aptitude test- Awareness class

An awareness session on the aptitude test for the 2025-28 Little Kites batch was organized under the guidance of senior Little Kites members.

Details regarding the pattern of questions in the aptitude test, the advantages of becoming a part of Little Kites, initiatives that foster social responsibility among students, the grace marks granted after the Class 10 board examination, additional points for Plus Two admissions, and the method used by KITE to prepare the rank list were effectively communicated to the newcomers by the senior students. A sample certificate was exhibited on the notice board, and the senior Little Kites students are also overseeing the certificate distribution process.

Tech-Enhanced Learning for UP Students

On July 11, 2025, a technology awareness program was organized for the students of S.A.T UP School, Manjeshwara, under the leadership of the Little Kites Club of A. S.A.T Higher Secondary School. The program set a good example by introducing free software, including the basics of computers.

The special attraction of the program was the diverse technical presentations by the students who are members of Little Kites. VINYAS.A.S and ADHISH ALVA B. led the way to provide the children with the basics and practicality of Kannada typing. Then, DIGANTH S. SHETTY, PRANAVI and DHANUSH P presented entertaining and awareness-raising games prepared using the Scratch platform.

With the help of Little Kites members, the children tried and experienced these activities in depth for themselves. Through technology, it was clearly evident in the program that their interest was greatly enhanced.

The leadership and support of Kite Mentors Kirankumar and Sushma Bangra G, strengthened the success of this programe.

This activity day, which was very active and well-attended, turned out to be a very informative experience for the participating children. The presentations were completely practical. On September 20, 2025, the children of Little Kites 2025-27, who are members of the Free Software community, participated in a program held in the School Hall as part of the Free Software Day celebrations organized at the school level.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Midhun P., Master Trainer, KITE, Kasaragod. As part of the celebration, several activities were conducted, including a quiz competition, animation training, games, robotics training, a parents’ awareness class, and a digital painting competition. The best posters were selected, shared on social media, and the students also took a pledge to promote the use of free software.

Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri celebration

On Gandhi Jayanti , our school celebrated the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation , Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, in a unique and meaningful way. In line with Gandhi's emphasis on cleanliness and community service, our Littlekite students took the initiative to clean the school area. With brooms and dustpans in hand, they led by example, sweeping and sanitizing the classrooms, corridors, and playground. This collective effort not only spruced up the school premises, but also instilled a sense of responsibility and civic awareness among the students. Through this gesture, our teachers demonstrated that 'Swachhata Hi Seva' (Cleanliness is Service) is not just a slogan but a way of life. The event served as a fitting tribute to Gandhi's legacy, reminding us that even small actions can contribute to a cleaner, healthier, and more harmonious society..

School Level Kalotsavam Live Recording 2025

The Little Kites children had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Kalotsavam, live recording held on the 4th and 6th of October 2025. From this batch,Nishika, Rachana, and Devika are selected for the recording. They participated with great enthusiasm and dedication on both days. Additionally, Nishika, Rachana, and Devika also got the opportunity to be part of the live recording. The Little Kites students were also entrusted with the task of entering the marks for each competition, which they carried out responsibly and accurately. All the programs and competitions were recorded successfully and with precision.
