Holy Ghost Convent Higher Secondary School for Girls , Thottakkattukara, managed by Congrigation of Teresian Carmalites is situated in Aluva Municipality in Ernakulam District in Kerala State . The school commenced in July 1953 as an upper primary with 53 students. After ten years in 1963 lower primary section was added to this school. In 1983 the school was upgraded. In 1985 first SSLC batch of 31 students passed out in flying colours . A good result is maintained till present. In 2000 higher secondary was sanctioned. There are 3 Batches with Computer Science, Biology and Humanities as optional subjects , currently about 2600 students are studying in this school including higher Secondary. | |||
One of our faculty was honoured with national award for best teachers from Rastrapathi and Himalaya Wood Badge in 1991. Many of our students are awarded with Rashtrapathi Puraskar for Scouts and Guides every year. Our students have proved their excellency in academic, sports and cultural activities . Our school is been selected as the best school in district level many times. | |||
Our staff and students are indulged in active social work which includes house visit to orient our neighborhood about contigeous diseases and its needed precautions. We often visit old age home , orphanages , hospitals and sanitoriums. We donate our contributions for their welfare. Above all to improve our learners moral status we conduct various Orientation Courses, Seminars and Work Shops. We have a strong PTA and MPTA who whole heartedly support guide in all our attempts. | | |||
