| I sat alone beside the window sill,
| |
| on the course of a dull day;
| |
| My gaze wandered lazily till,
| |
| it stumbled on the deserted lane.
| |

| |
|
| It's been long since I knew this place,
| |
| A crowded street It's always been;
| |
| But now not even a single trace,
| |
| of human or animals seen.
| |
|
| |
| With loud honking of speeding Cars,
| |
| and busy chattering people;
| |
| The shrill voice of street vendors,
| |
| that beckons the needy ones.
| |
|
| |
| Even the trace of small children,
| |
| on their way back home from school;
| |
| And those cheerful giggling as they run-
| |
| and splash in the muddy pools.
| |
|
| |
| But now every time I peep outside,
| |
| to see those evening scenes;
| |
| All I see is an empty Roadside,
| |
| For three weeks or more, it seems.
| |
|
| |
| I wonder why I Suddenly felt-
| |
| a sense of pride in me;
| |
| For all these troubles could not end-
| |
| the fire in you and me.
| |
|
| |
| Stand united for the ‘Greater Good,’
| |
| it's not just you and me,
| |
| with a kind bond of Brotherhood,
| |
| that care and share - that’s what I mean.
| |
|
| |
| The sweet smell of wet earth,
| |
| and the lovely chirp of birds;
| |
| The squeak of little squirrels-
| |
| on my backyard trees;
| |
|
| |
| All these “ new born” earthly beauties-
| |
| that I see around me these days;
| |
| reminds me of the moral duties,
| |
| towards our mother nature due...
