MY STUDY ON THE EPIDEMIC OUT BREAK COVID- 19 VIRUS :- Virus is a submicroscopic infectious agent. It can be active only inside the living cells of an organism. There are million types of viruses in the environment. But only about 5000 virus species have been described in detail. Viruses are found in almost all ecosystem on earth.It can infect all types of living organisms. The study of viruses is known as virology ,a branch of microbiology. A virus consists of a genetic material (A molecule of DNA or RNA) and a protein coat that act as a cover around the genetic material. CORONA VIRUS  :- Corona viruses are a type of virus. There are many different kinds of corona viruses. eg: SARS, MERS, COVID-19 etc. COVID-19  :- It is a newly identified corona virus type that cause respiratory illness. It first emerged in China in December 2019. SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 :- Symptoms of COVID-19 are dry cough, fever, shortness of breath, muscle aches, sore throat, loss of taste and smell, diarrhea and headache. In specific group of people like old aged persons, diabetic patients, heart patients, people who intake various medicines for life style diseases .COVID-19 may prove fatal and may even lead to death. SPREADING OF COVID-19 :- The new corona virus (COVID-19) can be spread from person to person by contact. INCUBATION PERIOD OF COVID-19 :- The normal incubation period for COVID-19 is 14 days. VACCINE :- There is no corona virus vaccine yet. PREVENTION :- 1) Frequent hand washing with soap or sanitizer. 2) Coughing or sneezing into the bend of elbow. 3) Keep social distancing 4) Staying home when you are sick. 5) Wearing a mask when you go outside. 6)Quarantine and isolation. DIAGNOSIS OF COVID-I9  :- Diagnosis of COVID-19 is difficult with only a physical exam. It can be diagnosed with a laboratory tests. There are laboratory test that can identify the corona virus in respiratory specimens like sputum, Nasopharyngeal or Oropharyngeal swab. GMC Ernakulam in Kerala set up KIOSKS (Walk-in sample KIOSK-WISK) to collect samples safely from people with symptoms of COVID-19. It is the first of its kind in India. It is inspired by similar models deployed in South Korea. TREATMENT FOR COVID-19  :- There is no specific treatment for COVID-19. There is no corona virus vaccine yet. The people who become sick should be treated with supportive measures that relieve symptoms for severe cases there may be additional options for treatment. eg: Using ventilators and research drugs. PRESENT GLOBAL SITUATION  :- Globally the number of cases confirmed 19,81,239 according to WHO on 15/4/2020 out of which 1,26,681 had died. Confirmed cases in India 11439 out of which 377 had died. In Kerala total confirmed cases 387 out of which 3 had died. CONCLUSION :- A pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China was the first reported Covid case. After just three months WHO charactarised COVID as pandemic. This is currently affecting 157 countries and territories all around the world. COVID-19 emergency is affecting international financial market and individual social life. As there are no vaccine discovered, the only possible solution to escape from this pandemic is strict adherence to all the guidelines given by the government. Practice social distancing and keep good personal hygiene.
