Organisms that can be seen only through the microscope are called microorganisms. They are virus, bacteria, protozoa and fungi. Virus is a submicroscopic infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of living organisms. When infected, the host cell is forced to rapidly produce thousands of identical genes of the infected virus.
Virus are made of either to or three parts. All Include genes. These genes are built from either DNA or RNA.The scientific study of viruses and its infections began in the closing year of the 19th century.In 1892, Dmitri Ivanovsky filtered a infectious substance called “VIRUS” from tobacco plant ( tobacco mosaic virus) This discovery is considered to be the beginning of virology.There are 219 virus species that are known to able to infect humans . The first of these to be discovered was yellow fever virus in 1901. Max Theiler of Rockfeller foundation discovered effective vaccine against yellow fever and got Nobel Prize in 1951.
Virus are both useful and harmful to us. Virus causes diseases like common cold, polio, chicken pox, measles, aids and finally COVID-19.Corona virus are a large family of virus that causes illness ranging from the common cold to Respiratory Syndrome and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. There are hundreds of corona virus, most of which circulate among animals such as pigs, camels, bats, cats and humans.SARS corona virus emerged in November 2002 and caused Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. That virus disappeared in 2004. Since 2012 an out break of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Corona virus has been affected in several countries, primarily in the Middle East.
Finally in December 2019 , a noval corona virus SARS COVID-2 was identified as the cause of an out break of viral disease in China. This disease later named Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID(19) subsequently spread globally near by 2,55895 people were infected and 177704 died.
