The silent killer
Scientists and medical researchers have for years differed over the exact definition of pandemic, but one thing everyone agrees on is that the word describes the widespread occurrence of disease, in excess of what might normally be expected in geographical region. Cholera, bubonic plague, smallpox, flu, HIV, and influenza are some of the most brutal killers in human history. During these pandemics many of them have killed between 300- 500 million people in its 12, 000 years existence. In every year, the people were overcoming many types of pandemic. Now a days we are also overcoming a huge destructive pandemic, known as Coronavirus (covid-19 ). A pneumonia of unknown cause detected in Wuhan, China was first reported to the WHO country office in China on 31 December 2019.The outbreak was declared a public Health Emergency of International concern on 30 January 2020. On 11 February 2020, WHO announced a name for the new corona virus disease as covid-19. Corona virus (covid -19 ) is an infectious disease caused by Serve acute respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS COV -2 ). The disease was first identified, in late 2019 at World Famous Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan, China. The first death of covid -19 was reported in China. Then Philippines, France, Iran, Italy, Korea and these has widespread globally, ongoing. Corona virus are a group of related virus that cause diseases in mammals and birds. Midillness include some cases of the common cold, while more varieties can cause SARS, MERS and covid -19. People may be sick with the virus for 1to14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of coronavirus are fever, tiredness and drycough. Symptoms in other species vary : in chickens, they cause an upper respiratory tract disease, while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhoea. There are yet to produce vaccines or antiviral drugs to treat human coronavirus infections. Most people (about 80%)have recovered from the diseases without needing special treatments. Coronavirus constitute the subfamily Orthocoronavirinae, inthe family of corona viridae, realm Riboviria, phylum Incertae sedis, order Nidovirales. They are enveloped viruses with a positive -sense single - stranded RNA genome and nucleo capsid of helical symmetry. The genome size of these viruses range from approximately 26 to 32 kilobases, one of the largest among RNA viruses. They have characteristic club - shaped spikes that project from their surface, which in electron micrographs create an image reminiscent of the solar corona from which their name derives. In India, the first positive coronavirus was confirmed in thrissur from a malayali student studying in Wuhan University. The world eye's sights towards the south India in kerala, because in the world fight against coronavirus, kerala is a leading example. Kerala fully equipped against corona because day by day positive patients were recovering completely. This is due to the efficient medical facilities, hard work of health workers, peoples of kerala, especially kerala government. Other countries wishes to became kerala as a model. After these virus, other countrie's medical agencies were enter to kerala for studying how we will overcome these most destructive epidemic." Kerala has the highest Covid recovery rate and lowest Mortality ratebin India The mortality rate is 5.75% in the world average, 3.5 % in India and 0.58% in kerala. There's currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease. But we can protect ourself and help prevent spreading the virus to other if you: 1.
