IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS Rexin is a naughty boy. He is studying at primary school in a city school. He never obeys the words of elders and did not study the lessons regularly. He always likes to play games with friends. On a sunny day, he started his play early in the morning. He played football in a muddy field with friends. His mother warned him earlier that not to play in muddy field because it would cause ill health. But he forgot the words of his mother and played the whole day. After the long hours of play he felt tired and went to bed without proper bath. The next day, Rexin woke up with severe fever and cold. His mother took him to hospital for medicine. The doctor examined him and done some medical tests. By examining the medical report the doctor realized that the fever is due to virus infection. Hence the doctor enquired about Rexin’s cleanliness. His mother opined that, he never bath regularly, eat food with unwashed hands, never trim the nails, eat food from outside that made him unhealthy. The doctor told Rexin that, an unhealthy body would invite virus and bacteria which might cause fever. He suggested certain medicines to him. The doctor said that cleanliness is important to prevent germs enter into body. Then he suggested cleanliness practices such as brushing teeth twice a day, bath regularly, wear tidy dress, trim the nails timely before they grow long, washing hands before and after meals, never eat food from outside and drink only clean water. On the way back to home, Rexin remembered the cleanliness practices suggested by the doctor and he decided to follow it and tried to become a cleanliness boy.
