An Article about Corona virus The Corona virus is a family of virus that can causes a range of illness in humans including common cold and more severe forms like SARS and MERS which are life threatening .The virus is named after its shape which takes the form of a crown with protrusions around it and hence is known as coronavirus .Symptom in other species vary : in chickens ,they cause an upper respiratory tract disease while in cows and pigs they cause diarrhea .There are yet to be vaccines or antiviral drugs to prevents or treat human coronavirus infections. Corona virus constitute the subfamily ortho coronavirinaen the family –coronaviridae ,order – Nidovirales and realm – Ribovira They are enveloped viruses with a positive sense single stranded RNA genome and nucleocapsid of helical symmetry .The genome size of corona viruses range from approximately 26 to 32 kilo bases .One of the largest among RNA viruses .They have characteristic club shaped spikes that project from their surface which in electron ,micrographs create an image reminiscent of the solar corona from their name deserves. Corona virus are large pleomorphics spherical particles with bulbous surface projections. The average diameter of the virus particles is around 120nm(12um) .The diameter of the envelope is 80nm (.08um) and the spikes are 20nm (.02um)long .The envelope of the virus in electron micro graphs appears as a distinct pair of electron dense shells. The viral envelope consists of a lipid bilayer where the membrane (M) envelope (E) and Spike (S) structural proteins are anchored .A subset of corona-viruses (specifically the members of beta coronavirus sub group A) also have shorter spike –like surface protein called hemagglutinin esterase (HE). Inside the envelope there is the nucleocapsid which is formed from multiple copies of the nucleopsid(N) protein ,which are bound to the positive –sense single – stranded RNA genome in a continuous beads on a string type conformation .The lipid bilayer envelope ,membrane proteins and nucleocapsid protect the virus when it is outside the host cell. As of now a vaccine has not been formulated for the novel coronavirus .In light of this fact prevention appears to be the best cure available so far. Here are the measures we need to keep the virus at bay: < 1.Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Maintain at least three feet distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing . 2. Avoid touching your eyes ,nose, and mouth 3.stay home when your are sick 4.Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue then dispose of the tissue safely . 5.Clean and disinfect frequently touched object and surfaces using a regular house hold cleaning spray or wipe . 6.wearing a mask is not necessary unless your are taking care of an infected person .The centers for Disease control (CDC) does recommend that only infected people wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus. 7.Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20seconds ,especially after going to the bathroom before eating ,and after blowing your nose ,coughing or sneezing 8.If soap and water are not readily available use an alcohol based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol always wash hands with soap and water when hands were visibly dirty . 9.If you have a fever cough and difficulty breathing seek medical attention immediately to keep in mind the travel advisory set out by the ministry of health and welfare.
