Our Environment Is In Your Hands
As we all are well familiar with our environment, it is everything which surrounds us naturally and affects our daily life on earth. Everything comes under in environment, the air we breath, the water we use for our daily routine, plants, animals and other living and non-living elements around us. Our whole life depends on environment. Our environment is equal to our mother. Everything in environment has its own power and uniqueness. An environment is called healthy environment when natural cycle goes side by side without any disturbance. Any type of disturbance in the nature’s balance affects the environment totally which ruins the human life. But the interventions of man in nature with selfish motives have adversely affected the environment. Our exploitation, deforestation, pollution and other dangerous disasters created by human beings cause imbalance in nature. So interaction in nature without disturbing its diversity is an important aspects in the conservation of the environment and its diversity is a must for the healthy sustenance of not only man but all life forms as well. Therefore it is the duty of the human beings to protect the diversity of the environment for the existence of generations. As humans are selfish and greedy, they never give importance to the conservation of the environment. Man’s unscientific interventions and activities affect the environment harmfully. But disasters teach us many lessons about the protection of ourselves and the environment. For example, Kerala people experienced the unity and co-operation of people in rescue operation and rehabilitation activities due to severe Flood. Now another pandemic called “Covid-19” is wreaking havoc on countries around the world, causing global health crisis while forcing economies to shut down in the face of strict quarantine measures. But the outbreak is also having an intriguing impact on earth’s environment, as nations restrict the movement of people. We can see a big difference in air quality due to huge reduction in air pollution. Reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases as the global economy heads to recession. The economic recession and resulting declines in energy use and population shifts can drive dramatic reductions in environmental impacts including over exploitation of of natural resources, deforestation, unscientific land use practices, different types of pollutions etc. The Covid-19 pandemic has taught many new lessons to human beings all over the world. As a result, kitchen vegetable gardens increased, an important concept of personal and surrounding cleanliness developed, reduced the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants and the availability of clean water bodies.. Oh.. How beautiful environment..... This pandemic has given other opportunity to make aware the humans that it is the duty of each and everyone to work for the protection and conservation of environment which is not only for man but all life forms as well. “Take care of the Earth and she will take care of you”
