When the last leaf falls When the last leaf falls A young artist Christie is down with pneumonia.she is convinced that she is going to die soon.Lying in her bed,she watches an old ivy vine outside her window, it's leaves were falling fast in the cold autumn wind. She believes that she'll die when the last leaf falls. Benjamin, an old artist, hears about this and he paints a leaf on the wall outside to give her hope. The nihts cold makes him die of pneumonia, but the umfallen leaf returns the young artist back to life. Christie's the last leaf can also have a deeper meaning in our times, when the whole environment is withering.Unlike in this story,however, no one can help us in such a situation.
