ONAM CELEBRATED

GHSS KARTIKULAM,20thAug.08:Onam is celebrated in a grand way in the school.The Head Mistress Mrs.Chechamma Kuncheria inaugurated the function and the Panchayath President Mr.O.R.Kelu delivered the key note address.All students participated in different cultural programmes.7A,10 D & +2 Com. bagged the first prizes in the Floral Design competition in various sections.All classes participated well.Some of the most attractive programmes were Sack Race,Popt Breaking,Spoon Race,Music Chair etc..As part of the celebrations,The English Club also conducted a News Reading Competition. TALENT SEARCH EXAM-A new venture in English language

GHSS Ktm,Nov 22:A Talent Search Exam is conducted to develop the language acquisition skill of the students.The exam is conducted by the English Club.It was a full day programme for the High School classes.It was a fully equipped test which contained two sections, written test and performance test. When the results came out 99% of the students scored D+ and above grades. Miss Sreesha.K.R comes out with the toppest and secured 98% marks. Reporter:Snehaprabha(10A)

Ghss,Kartikulam,27th Sept.:The Teens Club of GHSS,Kartikulam is inaugurated in a splendid function arranged at the school auditorium by Mr.Dr.Sebastian,The Chief Physician of Fathima Matha Mission Hospital .The function is started with the welcome notes of the Club President Master.Anas.P.A.The Headmistress, The PTA President,Mrs.Suni etc.fecilitate the programme After the Inaugural Function,the chief guest Mr.Dr.Sebastian took a class on “Health Problems of Students”.The class is really a blessings to the members to know the different health problems they are being faced..The function is concluded by proposing vote of thanks by the club secretary,Miss.Sreesha.K.R

REPORT OF THE ACTIVITIES OF ENGLISH CORNER-2008-09

With immense pleasure and great proud, we humbly describe our Club’s different activities of the academic year, 2008-09.It is a year, that is witnessed the talent ship and explosion of students in the field of English Language and Literature. In the first meeting of the club on 8th June 2008,selected the office bearers of the year.Master.Ramees.K.A and Miss.Sreesha.K.R are selected as the Head boy and Head girl respectively.

Independence Day Quiz Programme The quiz revealed out the students knowledge in the area of Indian History and the Independent Struggle.The students showed high spirits and the questions and answers were in English.In the final round ,Master Sayooj.A.S (Xth D) won the trophy of the winner.

News Reading Competition It’s really a marvelous programme conducted as part of Onam Day Celebratitions-2008.It was a team competition,consisting of three members in a group.All the teams participated in great spirit and healthy way.The team,which was led by Sreesha.K.R got the first prize.

Production of Newspaper As part of the Onam day celebrations, the groups named Autumn, Winter, Summer, Spring produced their news paper bulletin with a variety of news related to the events, that were going on in their classes and school. All the groups showed amazing talents and its helped them to know the features of drafting and editing different news.

A Competition on Calligraphy. It was a rare opportunity to the students to improve their handwriting skills and their skills on comprehension. In this venture,Miss.Sreesha.K.R,Miss.Athira.M.S showed greatness in a well way.

English Talent Search Scholarship Examination On November,22 to enrich the skills on LSRW of the students, conducted an English Talent Search Scholarship Examination for the students of High school Classes with the co-operation of Krithi Publishing & Research Centre,Thiruvananthapuram..This test was two parts including a written and a performance test.When the result came out 99% of the students got D+ and above grades and Miss.Sreesha.K.R got the First in Highschool Section scoring 98% of marks.

English Language and Literature Quiz To get a well base and a thorough knowledge on English Language and Literature,arranged a quiz programme on the theme.In this challenging venture,Miss.Sreesha.K.R won the title of Champion.As the second phase of this competition,She participated in the District Level Competition,conducted by ELTF,Wayanad, and secured the THIRD Prize from 36 participants.

WE ARE ON THE WAY OF PROGRESS GHSS Ktm:Nowadays Ghss Kartikulam is on the way of progress.The school got 92% result in last years SSLC Examination and 82% in the Plus Two Exam.The students were congratulated in ‘VIJAYOTHSAVAM’programme conducted by the school authorities.The result was the outcome of the team work of students,teachers and PTA.And also a residential camp has been conducted in the school in every year for the final students to do well in their exam. CREATING SCIENTISTS GHSS Ktm:A Science Exhibition is conducted in the school by the students.It was a joint effort by the Science,Social and Maths clubs.The hidden abilities of the students were exhibited in it .It was really a great event.

GHSSK-A LEADING FIGURE IN STATE SCHOOL KALOTHSAVAM

GHSSK:Since 2007 on wards we are one among the leading govt.schools in Wayanad dist.to participate in State School kalothsavam.In the last two years

we got “A” grades in Hindi recitation and Folk dance. This year we are the winner of dramatization in Arabic in state Fest.In the District level also our students bagged “A” grades in the items like recitation kannada,light Music,Mono act,Folk dance,Oppana etc.The school received such a honour from a wide limitations.

We Salute Our Respected Veteran GHSSK:Our respected natural Science teacher Mrs.K.K.Omana is going to be retired from after 25th Years service.We are lucky to have such a teacher,who has completed her service in here only.We are greatly inspire on you in your sincereness,friendliness and leadership.As far as our’s concerned it’s really a great loss,though we realize your greatness. In this honourable moment ,we the English corner salutes you with all respects and proudness.

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATED GHSS KTM:The 54th Annual Day Celebrations of GHSS Kartikulam was held on February 6th 2009.DEO Sri P.K.Devesan and Sri K L Paulose were the chief guests of the day and the principal welcomed the gathering.It was also a farewell function of Smt K K Omana Teacher, who has been working in the school since 1984.The programme was presided over by Smt Daisy Ouseph and inaugurated by the panchayath president Sri O R Kelu.Various programmes by the students were conducted and the drama by the Arabic Students was the special attraction of the day.The magazine by the LP students ‘KUTTITHAM’and ‘FLASH-2008’by the English Corner were also released by the DEO.

PATRIOTISM:ALWAYS KEEPS US ONE

GHSS KTM:The 62th Independence Day was celebrated with colourful progammes.Respected Head Mistress Smt Chechamma Kuncheria hoisted the National Flag and the school saluted it .There was a rally by the students bearing placards which contain slogans related to freedom sruggles.The rally marched up to the town and thereafter some cultural programmes were also staged. Sweets were also distributed to the students.

A WARM WELCOME TO THE “BLACK PEARLS “ AND DISTRICT IT FEST CHAMPIONS

GHSSK:We received our District Sports & IT Fest Champions with a great applause in a function arranged in the school auditorium to congratulate the laudable “Black Pearls”.Before the function, a procession was conducted which was led by winners,the scouts and JRC’s . After this,the honouring ceremony was inaugurated by the District Panchayath Member Mr.K.L.Paulose under the presidential ship of Mr.O.R.Kelu,the Grama Panchayath President of Thirunelly.The personalities like the Ward member Daisy Ouseph,PTA president,Principal,Headmistress etc were felicitated the programme.The coaches Mrs.Mercy.P.V and Mr.Gireesh kumar were too honoured in the function.
