TEACHERS EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME—19th May 2016

To rejuvenate the teaching and non-teaching staff for the academic year 2016-17, a teacher empowerment programme was held on May 19 by Fr. Sabi Kochkunj.

A seminar for the personality development of the plus two students was conducted on May 31.It was headed by Dr. Jayaraj, Prof.Head of the Dept. of Psychology, M.G College.

PRAVESHNOTSAV—1st June,2016

Praveshnotsav was celebrated on June 1st. The tiny tots were welcomed by the school Director Rev.Sr.Renita with gifts and sweets.

CARMEL LAURELS FELICITATED—3rd June,2016

87 A+ holders of plus two section including two full scorers-Keerthana K and Rose Paul and 75 A+ holders of S.S.L.C were congrulated by Sreelekha IPS (Addl.Director General of Police). The Best Female Singer of the 46th Kerala State Film Award 2015 Kum. Madhusree Narayan was also honored. The PTA president Dr. Abhraham Joseph presided over the function.

VAYANADINAM –6th June,2016

Shri. Sivankutty Director, S.K Hospital launched the vananakalri at the school by handing over a copy of Malayalam Manorama Daily to Keerathana R Nair. Shri Anoop Menon and Shri Suresh p Nair Circulation Executive were also present.

GREEN DRIVE AT CARMEL-6TH JUNE 2016

The World Environment Day was celebrated by distributing saplings. In connection with this various competitions were held and students took pledge to preserve nature.

ULLOOR TROPHY—8TH JUNE 2016

The Mahakavi Ulloor Janma Shatabdi Rolling Trophy was again retained by the School after winning it for four consecutive years. Carmel Girls’ Higher Secondary School Principal Mrs. Anjana received the Ulloor Throphy from the Honourable Minister Kadakampally Surendran the Ulloor Smarakam.

A function was organized at Carmel GHSS to welcome the new batch of Student Police Cadets.Shri Yalakki IFS (Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, social Forestry) was the Chief Guest. Shri Proamod Kumar (Asst. Commissioner of Police, Control Room, DNO) released the mazgine.Mr.ShyamLal.T (Circle Inspector of Police, Musem Police Station) was also present.

Fr.Sabi Kochukunj conducted a seminar for the High School & Higher Secondary students on the importance of spirituality and on building up a good career.

CARME FEST –16TH July 2016

Carmel day was celebrated to pray tribute to the Lady of Mount Carmel. Special prayers and holy Mass was offered to seek the blessings of the patroners. The day witnessed the Inauguration of various clubs by John Brittas (Media Advisor to the CM & Kairali Channel MD).

CARME QUEST –19th July 2016

The Carmel Quest for inspiring the intellectual excellence of students was held on July 19th. Out of the 25 schools that participated, 5 teams were selected for the finals.Kum Megha Niranjana Nair and Master A Sreenath of L’ecole Chempaka bagged the first place. Shri. Reshi Raj Singh IPS (Exercise Commissioner) gave away the prizes in the valedictory function. Shri Sunil K P ( ) was the quiz master.

AWARENESS AGAINST NARCOTICS—26th July 2016

Anti-drugs day was celebrated to fight against the usage of drugs among youth. Sri was the Chief Guest. Students took a pledge against the use of drugs.

FELICITATION TO AUXILIARY BISHOP & Inauguration of K.C.S.E-- 2016

A felicitation ceremony was organized for Rev. Dr. Christudas (Auxiliary Bishop, Latin Archdiocese of TVPM). His esteemed presence gave a spiritual touch to the day. The day also witnessed the inauguration of the K.C.S.L activities. Kum Aleesha J B chairperson of K.C.S.L proposed the vote of thanks.

COMMEMORATION OF HIROSHIMA— 6TH August 2016

Hiroshima day was observed to inculcate the message of peace and universal brotherhood in young minds. Candles were lit and anti war pledge was taken to commemorate the day.

AWARNESS CLASS FOR STD IX—18TH August 2016

Mr. Martin Payapilli conducted an awareness class for the students of Std IX on how to face the challenges of life.

TRAINING WORKSHOP—19TH – 21ST August 2016

A three day training workshop on “Skills for Adolescence” was held for teachers by the Lions Club International. It was inaugurated by Jimmy K Jose Additional Director of Public Instruction. Lion C A Alex Kuriakose was also present in the function. Faculty Smt. Revathy Balu and Mr. Tony Cherian handled the classes.

Onam Celebration (LP & UP Section)—25th August 2016

Onam was celebrated in its traditional regalia. The renowned playback singer Smt. Bhavana Radhakrishnan was the Chief Guest of the day. Students participated in painting competition. It was followed by cultural extravaganza by the students.

Onam Celebration (High school & Higher secondary) -26th August 2016

Renowned Playwriter, Lyricist, Film Director Shri.Sreekumaran Thampi inaugurated the Onam celebration. Pullikali, Onapattu, Thirvathira kali were a few of the cultural activities performed by the students thereby creating fervour of Onam in all its spirits. A grand Onam Sadhya followed after the ‘Onam Kazhchakkal’. Floral carpets and splendid swing added to the excitement.
