Environment and emergence of new viruses For the existence and survival of living things environment is very much important. All living beings are directly or indirectly related to the environment. Environment has a critical role in providing fresh air, water and food in the world. Forest plays a critical role in protecting environment. Considerable damage has been occurred in environment due to the intervention of human beings. Forest has been converted to either plantation crops or residing places. Holes in ozone layer, rising of atmospheric temperature and climatic change are the after effects of wrong doings of humans. A lot of viruses in the body of wild animals has transmitted to humans due to unmindful hunting and over exploitation of nature. These viruses are harmless to animals and birds but very harmful to human beings. Some of the diseases infected to humans from these viruses include sars, ebola and nipah. The latest one is COVID 19. COVID 19 is a new type of corona virus. It is now rapidly spreading all over the world. It has affected almost every countries. The world is now in a standstill condition which we never heard previously. The origination of this virus is believed to be happened in a local market of Wuhan in China. At present no vaccines or medicine is available for treating against this virus. Before understanding the nature and type of this new virus, it has infected many people in the world. Now a lot of people has been died and the existence of human beings is at danger due to this epidemic. Movement of people has been restricted and confined to their houses. Most of the manufacturing units, industries and public transport systems were stopped temporarily in order to prevent the spreading of COVID 19. A lone good thing happened is that pollution has been considerably reduced. Believe it or not this is a retaliation of nature for the cruelty of human against it. So we should change our attitude and understand the importance of protecting the environment. Moreover unmindful environmental damage will invite severe retaliation from the nature. We should collectively try our best to protect the environment and also to prevent the deadly virus COVID 19.
