Report on the Little Kites Camp Held on May 27 at NGPM HS School

Introduction:

The Little Kites Camp was successfully conducted on May 27, 2025, at NGPM Higher Secondary School. The camp was organized under the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) initiative, with the objective of enhancing students' digital literacy and fostering interest in technology and creative computing.

Objectives of the Camp:

To introduce students to basic ICT (Information and Communication Technology) skills.

To provide hands-on training in programming, animation, and multimedia.

To encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation among students.

To familiarize students with the objectives of the Little Kites IT Club.

Participants:

A total of 15 students from participated in the camp. The selection was based on their interest in ICT activities and recommendations from teachers. Several faculty members and IT coordinators also actively supported the sessions.

Program Schedule:

The camp started at 9:30 AM with an inaugural session, which included:

Welcome Address – By the Principal, NGPM HS School

Inauguration – By the School kite mistress

Introductory Talk – On the objectives of the Little Kites Club

Training Sessions Included:

Introduction to Free and Open Source Software (FOSS)

Basics of Programming (Scratch and Python)

Multimedia and Animation

Cyber Safety and Ethics

Team Activities and Creative Projects

Highlights: students learned video editing

A cyber safety quiz and poster-making competition were held.

Peer collaboration was encouraged throughout the sessions.

The camp ended with a feedback session, where students expressed enthusiasm and interest in future ICT-related events.

Conclusion:

The Little Kites Camp at NGPM HS School was a resounding success, providing a platform for students to explore digital creativity and technological skills in a supportive environment. The event helped instill confidence and sparked curiosity in young minds about the potential of IT and digital learning.

Recommendations:

Conduct follow-up workshops to deepen skills in programming and digital art.

Establish regular meetings of the Little Kites Club for project development.

Encourage more students to join the club and participate in state-level activities.
