| Vellarada: VPMHSS welcomed the fresh academic batch on June 1 with the school Praveshanolsava song . The school Headmistress Smt. Jayalatha delivered the welcome note and officially welcomed the budding astuteness to the new academic year. Sri. Baiju Panicker (school manager), chaired the function, ensuring the best quality of education.

| Sweets were distributed to the newcomers by the school authorities and comforted them to mingle in the new atmosphere. Honourable ward members- Smt. Sushama Kumari, Sri. Shashi and Sri. Pradeep and Sri. Shahir Master, PTA President felicitated the function. The previous year toppers of HS and HSS were honoured with momentum. After vote of thanks, offered by the Staff Secretary Mr. P Premchandran, the respective class teachers were introduced to the pupils in the respective classes.<br>

| VPMHSS: On Tuesday, VPMHSS Vellarada celebrated Reading Day Celebrations and inaugurated Hello English Programme. Headmistress Smt. Jayalatha chaired the function and motivated the students to read books as part of routine life. Malayalam poet Mr. Anoop Thiruppuram and Mr. Sam David, A reputed teacher from Govt. UPS, Vellarada were special guests in the function. The school library is opened for all the students and Headmistress requested them to utilize it in the best way and offered a prize for the best write-up as part of Reading Week celebration.

| Mr. Anoop inaugurated the celebrations after commemorating the memories of P N Panicker, the father of Library Movements in Kerala. He mesmerises the young minds with his poetry and opened the wide range of opportunities in the world of letters. Mr. SamDavid inaugurated the SSA (Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) sponsored programme ‘Hello English’ to improve the proficiency of English among the students and teachersStaff Secretary Sri. Premchandran and librarian Smt. K S Veena thanked the guests and gathering.<br>

| Vellarada: Students from VPMHSS observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June. Smt. Jayalatha, School Headmistress chaired the function. Amaravila Excise Inspector, Sri. Suresh inaugurated the Cycle Rally campaign from School Ground via Anappara, Arattukuzhi to School Ground stating the after effects of drugs in placards received public attention. The club convener Smt. K Nandini organizes the programme in order to control use of drugs and drug trafficking. Posters were erected in the public areas with hand drawn pictures by the students. Picture gallery against drugs and illicit trafficking made by the student club members highlights the students’ effort on controlling use of drugs and supplies. An awareness class under Excise Inspector was held and the students took an oath against use of drugs and drug trafficking. Smt Aparna KSivan, School Principal, Sri.P Premachandran, Staff Secretary and T S Anil, Drawing Teacher felicitated the function.Thanappan
