INFLUENCE OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY IN THE EDUCATIONAL SECTOR  It's 2020, and we're living in an era of technological innovations. Day by day new technologies are being introduced and utilized in our society. This has made our life a whole lot easier and also faster. In my viewpoint, the neverending anxiety of mankind has a major role in pushing us to invent new gadgets and to implement new technologies. A major division where modern technology is being utilized is the educational sector. This has made studying a lot more convenient and has opened the window to a plethora of knowledge. This also has made many changes in the way of studying. Nowadays children are not searching in dictionaries, instead, meanings of words can be found on the internet. Many times, students are not asking doubts to their teachers, they are mostly approaching Internet facilities for it. The first one is a merit of modern technology because it saves time and is much easier, but the second one can be deemed as a demerit because it affects the attachment between a student and teacher adversely. So if we have the opportunity to ask doubts to our teacher, we don't need to depend upon smartphones and internet. In Kerala state also, the IT sector and new technologies are taking a major role in the education sector. Almost every school in our state has smart classes and there is also a special wing of students called LITTLE KITES for better utilisation and study of these technologies. The State Government have a major role in the smooth implementation of the technology, By providing financial assistance and thereby creating good infrastructure facilities. Exams can be conducted online with the use of this system. This is also very useful in certain situations such as which we are facing now itself. Exam results can also be declared and published faster. Online classes are also being held now. Single window system is another useful facility for admission process. But is this it? Are we at the peak of the utilisation of technology in the educational sector? Of course not. The day when students go to their schools with empty hands is not far. Yes, empty hands. They don't even have to carry a tablet on their way. Two interlinked computer or tablets, one at home and the other at the school are enough. Thinking about tablets and computers instead of books, we think, what about handwriting? If we only practise typing, our handwriting abilities will get faded. But we can also write on the displays of these devices. However, writing on smooth and glassy displays of smartphones and tablets is felt uncomfortable for many of us. But now we don't need to worry about that. Scientists and engineers have already developed special kind of digital screens which feel like an ordinary paper while touching and writing. The other crucial problem that we face while using these kinds of devices instead of books in schools is to charge them frequently. How can we charge these devices while in a class time? How do we charge many of them at a time? As technology has developed this much, it's not a big deal. We can just fix wireless chargers on the desk of each student in the classroom. Thus charging can be done simultaneously while the class is going on. So the possibilities are very vast in this subject and we are always trying to catch up with it. While talking about the merits of the influence of technologies in the educational sector, we also need to think about its demerits. Examples : * Need of electricity *Stress to eyes(Which can be minimised by using blue light filters and by using E papers). * Deviating to other subjects while browsing the internet(Can be avoided by our own willpower and by disabling "auto recommendation" in search engines). Technology will always keep growing and open many possibilities to our world. So our responsibility is to utilize them wisely for human needs without affecting the world adversely.
