Little Kites Sub-District Camp Held at GHSS Uppala
The Little Kites Sub-District Camp was successfully conducted at GHSS Uppala, featuring four batches in total—two batches of Animation and two batches of Programming. The camp had 96 registered students, out of which 94 students attended, with two students absent.
I handled one of the Programming batches with 25 students. All students actively participated and successfully completed Scratch 3 programming activities. The camp began each day at 9:45 AM with an engaging introductory game activity. During the morning session, students were taught to create a weather forecasting program in Scratch, where they learned to change and control variables such as temperature, pressure, humidity, and wind speed.
The afternoon sessions focused on Arduino-based learning. Students worked on programs in PictoBlox related to a weather system and gained hands-on experience with sensors.
On the second day of the Little Kites Sub-District Level Camp, an advanced Arduino programming session was conducted by me. Participants designed and assembled an anemometer and completed the Arduino setup using two sensors. Sensor interfacing and coding were carried out using PictoBlox. All participants were actively engaged in the activities, though a few students faced minor difficulties due to sensor malfunction.
At 12:00 noon, an assignment related to the session was given, and three participants completed the assignment excellently. The camp activities concluded at 4:30 PM, after which the participants were dispersed.
The camp provided meaningful exposure to animation, programming, and electronics, fostering creativity, technical skills, and practical problem-solving among students.
