A STORY OF AN ENVIRONMENT LOVER
In Krishnapuram village there was a naughty boy named Raju and destroying flowerpots was his hobby. He destroyed trees and cut branches. He harmed animals too. One day his grandmother called him while he was playing and told him a story.
Once there lived a king who got a child after waiting for many years. As he had only one son the king gave him a lot of freedom. The prince became too naughty and disobedient. The king had a beautiful garden in the palace with plenty of flowers. The prince became so destructive. He began to find joy in destroying. He plucked out fruits and flowers, killed the fishes in the pond, killed the birds with stones and so on. Finally he destroyed the whole garden. The king was so sad.
The prince and his friends entered the fields of farmers and destroyed everything. The poor farmers were in tears and complained this to the king. The king advised his son but of no use. A few months later the villagers were under the threat of famine. Even in the palace the scarcity of food was felt. The prince was so upset. It was a new experience.
The king called his son and told him “Dear son you have caused this famine. You spoiled the paddy fields with your friends. This universe is not only for us but also for animals, plants and birds. We all are the creations of God and are all equal. So ‘live and let live’. A king has to be a lover of nature. You have to plant trees”.
The prince understood the seriousness of his mistake. He decided to be good. Raju was impressed by this story and he also became an environment lover.
