Corona Virus-A one act play [Manu is a 14 year boy living in Alappuzha with his Grandparents. He is also studying at Alappuzha. His Grandparents were farmers. Grandma was well educated and she spend her time by reading books. He was writing his exams at that time when a big tragedy occurred on all over the world. It was Corona virus. His school closed. He was very happy to hear that news that his exams were cancelled. He ran with his friends to his house.] Scene-1 Manu- Hey Grandma, My school was closed due to corona virus spread in India. I do not want to write the remaining Exams. Grandma- Corona!!. Oh!! It came again, It already spreaded on the world approximately 2 light years back. Manu- Grandma, It was not the previous occured virus. This is Covid 19. Grandma - Oh! I am afraid Manu- Don’t be afraid, I am with you grandma- Where are your friends? Manu- They are standing outside. The told me that due to spread of corona they will entering the house only when they wash their hands with handwash. Gandma- What is the role of Handwashing in prevention of Corona virus? Manu- I will tell you about it. If we wash our hands with handwash the corona virus cant no more stay in our hands. Grandma- Here is your handwash. Manu- Thank you Gradma. [Manu handover the handwash with his friends Arjun and Midhun. They washed their hands with handwash and they entered the house] Arjun- Hey Grandma, How are you? Grandma- I am fine Ajun- Grandma tell grandfather not to go out all the time and t want maintain social distancing. Grandma- Okay. Midhun- Where is our Food Grandma? Grandma- Here is your food. [They ate the food and Arjun and Midhun went to their house.] [But Grandmother want to know more about Covid-19. She came to Manu’s room and she asked anout it.] Grandma- I want to know more about corona. Can you tell about it my son? Manu- Sure Grandma, I will tell abut it. Grandma- Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses with 4 human viruses causing mild colds in all age groups. The virus looks like it has a crown, hence the name. The family also includes viruses from animals that can infect humans in a process called zoonosis. This form of infection has caused severe pneumonia and death, such as the new virus corona virus (COVID-19). Previously, we have seen similar disease with the Severe Acute Respiratory Virus (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus Virus (SARS) viruses. COVID-19 began in the city of Wuhan in the Hubei region of China but there is currently local spread in other countries including South Korea, Iran & Italy. Isolated cases who have been infected abroad have been imported to other countries including Norway and other Nordic countries. Grandma- Okay, How do you know about it? Manu- A medical team came to our school and they told about it. Grandma- Oh! How does coronavirus infect? Manu- The original new coronavirus infection probably came from an animal and infected humans. Now it infects people through sneezing and coughing, but also through contact with virus-contaminated surfaces . Grandma- Okay, What are the symptoms? Manu- Common symptoms are respiratory symptoms with fever, fatigue, cough and very rapid or laboured breathing. Severe symptoms may include pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, renal failure and death. Grandma- Where does it originate? Manu- It originated from China. Grandma- Oh! Our relatives are in China. Manu- Yes I already contacted them and they told that they are in a safe place. Grandma- Oh! Good boy. [Grandma told all these things to Grandpa. But Grandpa did not take it as serious. He remained as usual. Finally Grandpa was affected by Covid-19. But there were no symptoms. Due to contact with Grandpa Grandma was also affected with Corona. The Medical team coperated well and they were recovered. They were the old persons those who were recovered from corona. It is due to main 2 reasons.
