PANDEMIC DISEASE A pandemic is an epidemic of disease that has spread across a large region, for instances multiple continents or worldwide, affecting a substantial number of people widespread endemic diseases with a stable number of infected people such as recurrences of seasonal influenza are generally excluded as they occur simultaneously in large regions and spread worldwide. Throughout history, there have been a number of pandemics of diseases such as smallpox and tuberculosis. One of the most devastating pandemics was plague which killed millions of people in the fourteenth century other notable pandemic Spanish flu, H1N1, HIV/aids. Current pandemics is covid -19. COVID – 19 Covid – 19 is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus The disease was first identified in December2019 Wuhan in China and has since spread globally. In India it was reported on 30 January 2020 at Thrissur in Kerala. On 22 march 2020, India observed a 14 hours voluntary public curfew at the instance of prime minister Narendra modi. The government followed it up with lockdowns in 75 districts where COVID cases had occurred as well as all major cities. Further on 24 march the prime minister ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days.
