ENVIRONMENT AND MANKIND  Our environment has the most prominent role in the existence and wellbeing of all living beings. Hence, even a trivial change in its equilibrium will affect the organisms very strongly. Day by day the state of our environment is getting worse and is being exploited by mankind. Human beings have a great influence in causing changes in our nature. Actually, we are the only creature in Earth to whom God has given enough intelligence to plant trees and make our nature more prosperous. But we are doing exactly the opposite. Our activities are making the state of the earth's environment more horrible. Global warming is one of the major problems that we are facing now. Its main causes are deforestation and the uncontrolled emission of greenhouse gases. Pollution is another crucial problem which is being faced by our society. Most important among them is air pollution. The toxic gases expelled from large factories and motor vehicles are its main reasons. Gases like chlorofluorocarbon emitting from refrigerators and air conditioners cause ozone depletion. Due to this reason, harmful rays and radiation enters directly to the earth's atmosphere from the Sun. The excessive construction of concrete buildings such as flats and malls will also effect in rise in temperature. Water is another key element which is inevitable for the existence of life on earth. It is being contaminated in many different ways. The dumbing of factory waste and chemicals into water bodies makes the water very polluted. Throwing of plastic waste also cause the water to get dirty. This will affect the life fishes and other organisms living in water very badly and the scarcity of freshwater will also affect the land living organisms adversely including humans. Land is also being polluted due to some human activities. Overuse of plastic materials and the dumping plastic waste into the soil are the main cause. Unscientific decomposition of E-waste also causes soil pollution. The presence of mercury content and other chemicals in these waste will make the soil toxic. And hence it affects plants and the fertility of the soil. So a better waste management system and irrigation system is inevitable for the wellbeing of environment and humans. Earthmoving is another activity of humans which causes many problems in the environment. It results in soil erosion, landslides and other natural calamities. Due to these changes in our environment caused by human actions, many other changes are also being occurred in the climatic conditions of the earth. Low rainfall and an increase in atmospheric temperature are being experienced. The radiations emitted from mobile towers are harmful to the nearby plants and creatures. The Government has a major role in making human activities environment friendly and in convincing the people about the need to protect our nature. Government has to take several measures to maintain the health of mankind by protecting the nature. Use of recyclable materials, minimising the use of plastics, utilisation of electric vehicles instead of traditional ones and maximum utilisation of public means of transport etc can control and reduce environmental pollution. As humans, it is our responsibility to save our nature. To achieve this goal, we need to plant more trees. And we should stop cutting down trees and exploiting our nature.
