ENGLISH CLUB ACTIVITIES 2025/26
Basheer Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SSVGHS Chirayinkeezhu to honour the great Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. The programme was organised to remember his valuable contributions to Malayalam literature and to create interest in reading among students.
The celebration began with a prayer followed by a welcome speech. Teachers spoke about the life, works, and literary importance of Basheer. Students actively participated in the programme by presenting speeches, reading excerpts from his famous works, reciting poems, and performing role plays based on his stories.
A special corner was arranged with Basheer’s books, pictures, and quotes to help students know more about the beloved writer. The programme was informative, inspiring, and enjoyable for all. It helped the students understand the richness of Malayalam literature and the timeless values in Basheer’s writings.
