PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE A contagious disease is a subset category of transmissible diseases which are transmitted to other persons, either by physical contact with the person suffering the disease, or by casual contact with their secretions or objects touched by them or airborne route among other routes. Some examples of these diseases include Cold, Chickenpox, Ring worm, Meningitis, Hepatitis, and HIV/Aids. Some of the ways communicable diseases are spread through air, urine & feces, blood, saliva & skin. Speaking of contagious disease our world is suffering from one of the worst one Mankind had ever witnessed – COVID -19 CORONA VIRUS, which took almost 1.6 lakh lives as per the records by WHO dated 10th April 2020 and a total of 2, 359, 346 Active cases all over the world. So what exactly is this so called illness & what should we do against this life -Threatening pandemic which is spreading at a faster rate than a forest fire. Corona virus or COVID -19 is a family of viruses that can cause a wider range of illness including common cold, breathing problems and more severe forms like SARS and MERS. The virus is named after its shape which takes the form of a crown with protrusions around it and hence is known as “CORONA VIRUS”. The recent outbreak was first reported in Chinese city of Wuhan. Since it’s a new strain, there is no specific vaccine that can treat it. Economy all over the world is having tough times. Situation in India is also worrying with 17000 active cases and over 521 deaths. But the government is proving & fighting against this life – Threatening evil. Kerala shows an exceptional fighting spirit. Some of the districts have already turned green zone in a blink of an eye. So what magic exactly worked out. It’s simple but rather effective or they took some key measure. Along with ‘STAY HOME & STAY SAFE’ slogan, we can hold our hand & do some needful steps. 1. Wash your hands often. 2. Get vaccinated & use Antibodies sensibly. 3. Be smart about food preparation & attain good immunity. 4. Do not share personal items. 5.
