The school was opened around 1910.During the rule of the British government, the Dakshina Kannada District Board, a governing body, spread from Barkur in the north to Neeleshwara in the south (then the Kannada speaking area).There were some Kannada administrative officers in this institution. Due to their selfless attitude,classes were opened with the help of some children in the leadership ofeducational well wishers in the areas of Badaja, Udayavar, Kadambaru, Kaliyur, Moodambailu, Patur, Adkalkatte, Anakkallu, Bakrabailu. They were then built and called a school. Probably only the memory of the students or faculty of the time. now it is developed through RMSA project.


This locality is an essentially multi-lingual region. The people speak Malayalam, Kannada, Tulu, Beary bashe and Konkani. Migrant workers also speak Hindi.This village is part of Meenja Panchayath and Manjeswaram assembly constituency which is again part of Kasaragod (Lok Sabha constituency)
