ചരിത്രം
The milestone in the educational history of Pangode Panchayat was the opening of an L.P School at Bharathannoor, almost hundred years back. At that time, education was the privilege of the upper class women only. The muslim community woman rurally had any chance to go to schools. At bharathannor LP School, even though classes were from 1st to 4 th standard it was cut down up to 3rd standard due to shortage of students. The school building was donated by Mamoottil Kumara Swami. The L.P School was upgrade as upper primary in the year 1937 and then as High school in 1958. The high School was first headed by the Head Master Sri. M.V Prabhakaran Pillai. Even though the school was upgraded as a High School, classes were up to 8 th standard only. In these days the criteria to start a High School was that ten thousand rupees and 3 Acres of land was to be given to the government. Based on that a sponsoring Committee was formed under the chairmanship of Sri. Bharathannoor Surendra Kurup. The Committee collected Rs. 4500/- from the public and handed over to the government and got sanction for the 9 th standard. Still there was a need for the short amount and required acres of land to get sanction for the 10 the standard. So the present committee was disbursed and another committee was formed under the chairmanship of Sri. P. Kochunarayanan in 1960. The new committee handed over the remaining amount and 3 acres of land to the government and got sanction. About 80 cents of the required land was donated by Sri. M.K.Venkitachala sharma and the remaining land was purchased from Kadayil Veettil Kunjuraman Pillai . After the commencement of 10th standard, the school was first headed by K. Balakrishna Pillai, a dynamic personality in the whole history of the school. Malayalam Pandit Sri. Madhan Pillai was the first teacher and the first student was P. Gopinathan.
The golden era in the history of the school was during 1970-74 under the leadership of the Head Master Sri. N.Bhaskara Panicker. He was successful in creating a disciplined atmosphere among the students. Another great achievement was that of Sri.Murali. The Physical Trainer, who really successful in bringing up talented students in sports.

This include, Retired Medical Director Dr. K.V.Krishnadas, former neurologist- Dr. Sunil and Dr.Sukumara Pillai, Bharath award winner Hari Kumar, Bharathannnor Balan and camera man Pangode Shaji are famous in film field who completed their secondary education in this school. S. sindhu, S.Bindu, Aranya.P.S, Harimathu, Hareesh etc are some of the former students of this school who have harvested many achievements in sports. J. sugadhan, General Manager of the Indroyal Global Furniture studied in this school. Poets like Bharathannoor Sivarajan,
Bharahannoor shameer, actress Bharathannnoor smitha, Dancer Bharathannoor Sasi are also the products of this school.

The School is proud to have a group of eminent and efficient teachers. Many of the former students are presently working in this school as teachers. The whole –hearted support and co-operation of the teachers have resulted in the discipline of the school. Besides teaching Excellency, some teachers extend their admirable contribution in various fields. Kallara Ajayan is a poet, dramatist and short story writer. He was honored with Mahatma Shithya Puraskaram, Vidhyarangam award and Bala sahithya award. Mr. Sali Palode, Drawing teacher of this school, who is interested in Nature Photography has received 65 awards both national and international. Another teacher Mr. Venukumaran Nair published three books useful for mathematics students.
Free Mid day Meals
As majority of the students belong to poor families, they depend on free mid day meals in school. Special care is taken that students are provided with good food. Free School Uniform and study materials are supplied to the poor and really.

PTA committee meets once in every month to discuss the welfare and development of the school.
Bharathannoor GHSS stands unique in Pangode Panchayath in the field of education. The name will remain as a milestone in the history of the Tribal/Forest/Remote area schools in Thiruvananthapuram District.

മൂന്ന് ഏക്കര്‍ ഭൂമിയിലാണ് വിദ്യാലയം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. ഹൈസ്കൂളിന് 5 കെട്ടിടങ്ങളിലായി 41 ക്ലാസ് മുറികളും ഹയര്‍ സെക്കണ്ടറിക്ക് ഒരു കെട്ടിടത്തിലായി 6 ക്ലാസ് മുറികളുമുണ്ട്. അതിവിശാലമായ ഒരു കളിസ്ഥലം വിദ്യാലയത്തിനുണ്ട്.
ഹൈസ്കൂളിനും ഹയര്‍സെക്കണ്ടറിക്കും വെവ്വേറെ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ലാബുകളുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് ലാബുകളിലുമായി ഏകദേശം അമ്പതോളം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകളുണ്ട്. രണ്ട് ലാബുകളിലും ബ്രോഡ്ബാന്റ് ഇന്റര്‍നെറ്റ് സൗകര്യം ലഭ്യമാണ്.
