IMMUNITY Our environment is a rich source of microbes and many other parasites that can cause deceases in the body of living things. These infectious microbes includes viruses,bacteria, fungi,protozoa and a wide variety of parasites. The ability to resist against the microbes and parasite that cause change in our body and cause diseases to our body is called immunity. The word immunity derives from the Latin word immunis which means exemption from military service,tax payments or other public services. Immune system If the microbes and parasite enter the body the body will react by it cause ill to our body. There is a type of system that will defend our body from these foreign bodies . Immunology The branch of biology that works with the study of immune systems in organisms is called Immunology. Father of Immunology. In 1798 Edward Jenner found vaccine against smallpox and he is known as Father of Immunology.
