COVID-19 Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some cases of the common cold , while more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS, and COVID-19. Symptoms of Covid 19     Symptoms vary from person-to-person with COVID-19. It may produce few or no symptoms. However, it can also lead to severe illness and may be fatal. Common symptoms include: • fever • breathlessness • cough • potential loss of taste or smell                                   • It may take 2–14 days for a person to notice symptoms after infection. No vaccine is currently available for COVID-19.    Personal protection When and how to wear medical masks to protect against coronavirus? • Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water. • Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask. • Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water. • Replace the mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single-use masks. • To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water. • If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19. • Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing. • Masks are effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water. • If you wear a mask, then you must know how to use it and dispose of it properly. Importance of Social Distancing  • Experts agree that the COVID-19 outbreak cannot be stopped, but that it can be slowed through the implementation of social distancing measures. • Limiting human contact reduces transmission rates. • The sooner social distancing measures are  introduced, the slower infection rates will be, preventing an unmanageable peak of cases.,,BR.
