Muliyar is located about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) east of Kasaragod. It is situated along State Highway 55, to the north of the Chandragiri River. The village covers 34.27 square kilometres (13.23 sq mi) of land in Kasaragod taluk.

KALPS is one of the oldest and prestigious educational institution in the village. Muliyar Shree Subrahmanya swamy Temple,Bellippady Masjid etcetra are some religious places in muliyar.Muliyar is a scenic village located in the southern part of India, in the state of Kerala. Known for its lush greenery, peaceful environment, and agricultural landscape, it lies within the Kasaragod district. Kannada,Malayalam and Tulu are spoken in this area. Theyya or Bhoota kola are the artform of this village.
