Kindness Pays

Once upon a time, there lived Samia, a village girl. She was very kind to animals and had many pets in their barn. She and her mother cared the animals very well.

Then, one day when she was walking to the city to buy some groceries, she came across a kitten. Its fur was coated with dust and grime. Its once yellow fur was coated black and the kitten was being kicked by a group of teenage ruffians.

The girl rushed in to help the kitten. She scooped it into her palm and rushed off, before the leader of the gang could see what was happening but unfortunately, she heard the gang chasing her down behind her. She ran and ran until she reached her barn. She went towards her mother. Seeing the terrified look on her face she at once asked what the matter was. Samia explained the full story and her mother agreed to take care of the little kitten.

The next morning, Samia had no choice but to go to the store again as they were low on supplies. She went cautiously and had a loose grip on her kitchen knife the whole way. Then she reached a corner and saw herself ganged by the eight teenagers whom she had encountered. She then proceeded to pull out the knife slowly but one of them saw the action and stole it from her and smiled crookedly at her. The girl did not give up. She fought her way out of the tight circle shocking the boys. Then, she saw a flash of green light and turned just in time to see the kitten which she rescued grow into a woman with shining green eyes and golden blonde hair.

`What did you do to them?-asked Samia fearfully
`Oh, nothing to worry I just paralyzed them. They will come back to normal in about one hour -said the lady.

Then, she raised her hand and did a weird motion and the rouges froze in place .Then, the woman turned and smiled at Samia, then she was magically transported to her home. When she opened her eyes, she saw her wonderstruck mother.

`Hello. I am Midori, the lady said, I`m indebted to your daughter and would like you two to accompany me to my palace if that`s all right?
`What? How ?-stammered her mother
`I owe a debt to your daughter for saving me yesterday. I want to show my gratitude by offering you to live in my palace. What do you think? ` `What about the animals? -Blurted Samia
`They can accompany you too, young lady `– said Midori with a smile on her face
Samia then looked toward her mother who bit her lip
What’s the price for living in this castle?
`Nothing too great, just some help with chores. Any more questions?
`Show me proof that you are who you say you are - said her mother with a trace of hesitance in her voice
Midori snapped her fingers and turned into a kitten. When she came into human shape, she saw the shocked face of Samia`s mother and smiled.
`Never seen a guardian shape-shift before, dear? - asked Midori
`Um….no – replied mother
`Now, I assume you`ve got enough proof. Are you ready to begin your new life?
They all agreed. Midori snapped her fingers and they all reached the palace.
They all thanked Midori gratefully for her endless kindness and lived happily ever after.
