Severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-COV-2) is the virus strain that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).Its provisional name is 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov).As it was first discovered in Wuhan ,China it is sometimes referred as Wuhan virus or Wuhan Coronavirus. The outbreak has been declared an epidemic in more than a dozen states and union territories, where provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act ,1897 have been invoked and educational institutions and many commercial establishments have been shut down. To battle against coronavirus in India we observed a 14-hour voluntry public curfew established by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government followed it up with lockdowns in 75 districts where COVID cases had occured as well as all major cities.Further on 24 March our Prime Minister ordered a nationwide lockdownfor 21 days affecting the entire 1.3 billion population of India. On 14 April ,the Prime Minister extended the ongoing nationwide lockdown till 3rd May.
