Miyapadavu and its surrounds located in Meenja Village of Kasaragod district was a remote place and the local population was totally deprived of basic education in earlier part of last century. Late Sri Narayanappayya saw the need of these people and to meet their requirement, established VidyaVardhaka Aided Upper primary School in Miyapadavu on 15th January 1939. His son late Sri Ramakrishna Rao continued his father's work for the next 6 decades followed by his son Shri Shridhara Rao . They developed the school into a fully equipped educational institution to the present level with the able assistance of local population. Over the years many of the students who have passed out from this school have risen to great heights in the fields of literature, education, agricultural science, engineering, medicine etc.
