ENVIRONMENT CLEANLINESS AND DISEASE PREVENTION ENVIRONMENT CLEANLINESS AND DISEASE PREVENTION- These three terms are inter-related and and are very relevant in the present day scenario. The whole world today is going through an extremely crucial and difficult time. The Novel Corona Virus scientifically known as SARS – COV -2 has claimed the life of almost 1,65,000 people all over the world, the death toll and the number of positive cases are steadily increasing at every nook and corner of the world. Most of the countries have imposed either a partial or a complete lock down, confining their citizens to their homes. At such an hour, as responsible citizens we are supposed to look into the relevance as well as inter-connection of environment, cleanliness and disease prevention. Both personal and public hygiene is important to tackle any disease. For fighting against a disease like Covid-19 which is spreading rapidly we need to put a lot of care on hygiene mask ,sanitisers were all unknown to most of us. Till the outbreak of Covid -19,spending twenty seconds to wash our hands was an absolutely rubbish idea for atleast some of us . But now we have realised the importance of all of these. We realised that spending twenty seconds for washing our hands is one of the least things that we can do to protect our own life. spitting in public areas, coughing without covering mouth and nose were all our habit but now we all realise that there things which we consider as silly are actually important because it can not only affect you but also the people around including your loved ones Now we have learned the importance of personal hygeine. Today it is corona, tomorrow it will be something else. So even after containing this pandemic we should strictly folllow all these measures. Along with personal hygiene public hygeine is important too A polluted environment can act as the spreading ground of any disease. So cleaning environment and removing all the garbages is something that demands our due attention. Due to Covid-19 pandemic almost all nations are under lokdown, all the economic activities including the working of factories has come to a complete standstill,because of this it has been found that the pollution rate in all the countries have witnessed a significant decline.Delhi saw upto 44% reduction in PM 10 air pollution levels on the first day of its restrictions, says India’s central pollution control Board. The report said that in total 85 cities across India saw less air pollution in the 1st week of the national wide lock down.People in the northern parts of the country like Jalandhar are reacting with awe at the sight of the Himalayan mountaiin range which is more visible from more than 100 miles due to the reduction in air pollution caused by the lock down.All these facts throw light on how much human interventions have contributed to the higher level of environmental pollution. In the post Covid-19 period we should maintain all the cleanliness measures and at the same time we as indians should support and follow the Swachh Bharat abhiyan , a venture by our honourable Prime minister Shri. Narendra Modi which aims at cleaning India.
