Our School, one of the premier, esteemed institutions has been imparting quality education to the masses since its inception. It has witnessed a world changing over before it, but still stands tall in kindling the minds of many. The humble beginnings have flourished and prospered nurturing many a talents.

Brief History

This school of learning began its journey in the year 1911 as a Sanskrit Primary School near the famous, sacred temple of Shree Udaneshwara at Peradala under the leadership of late Sri Khandige Shambhatta and late Sri Ishwarabhatta.

The school was recognised as an Advanced Sanskrit School in 1913 by the Government of Madras. Later in 1915, the premises got relocated at the serene, mystic locale of Nirchal, the present location. In 1920, the Madras University approved the institution as an Oriental College and enabled it to give instructions for Vidwan Title course with Sanskrit and Kannada as co-ordinate languages, being the only one institute in the then Madras Presidency. But due to some inevitable reasons and the new educational policies, the Government remodelled the Advanced Sanskrit School on the pattern of Secondary Schools. as a pioneering educational institute for nurturing rural talents.

In 1952, our institution became a High School and the first batch of SSLC appeared for exams in 1958. Since then it has been a long journey under the guidance of the management, the Mahajana Vidyabhivardhaka Sangha. The present Manager, Sri Khandige Shama Bhat has been the Correspondent since 27.08.1973 and is the leading light of the institution.

We have celebrated the Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilee and are on the horizon of the Centenary. Our School has created a niche for itself in the group of educational institutions.

Present Scenario

At present, we have a strength of more than 700 students in our school. As per the new system of education, pupils have been furnished with a well equipped Computer lab and a Multimedia room. There is a library with more than 10000 books on various topics for the ready reference. Sports is also given equal impetus. We have a very good playground and the students have excelled in the field of sports too. All these facilities have been a boon to the student fraternity under the guidance of the Headmaster and a bunch of dedicated teachers.
