KUMARAMPUTHUR

Kumaramputhur is a village in Palakkad district in the state of Kerala, India. It is administered, along with some other villages, by the Kumaramputhur gram panchayat. Palakkad - Kozhikode National highway passes through Kumaramputhur.

This village is located in Mannarkad taluk of Palakkad district in Kerala, India. It is situated 3 km away from sub-district headquarter Mannarkad (tehsildar office) and 44km away from district headquarter Palakkad. As per 2009 stats, Kumaramputhur village is also a gram panchayat.

Geography

Kumaramputhur is situated in the banks of Kunthi River. Calicut to Palakkad National Highway 966 is passing through this village. The village is situated in Panoramic view of river and paddy fields. A town near to kumaramputhur is Mannarkkad .

KPS Payyanedam

KPS Payyanedam is a famous dramatist and orator. He has written and directed more than fifty dramas. He writes novels, short stories and articles. He published ten books. He received G. Sankara pillai memorial Award in 1998 and DALA (Dubai) Award 1987 for best scripts. He received KR Narayanan memorial Karmasreshta Award for the best cultural activist 2008. He Directed an Arabic Short film (a first attempt in Kerala) namely “AJINIHATHUL AMAL” (Wings of expectations) in 2012 for the Education Department of Kerala (SSA Palakkad) His Various dramas are even now enacting all over Kerala and abroad. Dramas have won prizes in various drama competitions several times. He is famous for his excellent speeches. He actively participates in various cultural and social programs. Now he is a member of Kunjan Nambiar Smaraka Samithi, Killikkurussi, State committee member of NANMA (organization of Malayalam artists) and Dist. President of Kerala Madhya Nirodhana Samithi. He retired from Calicut University as Asst: Registrar in 2008.
