CLEANLINESS

Cleanliness is the practice to clean everything. Living in a clean environment helps to prevent diseases. Cleanliness also refers to the habitual acts of keeping dirt away, to maintain good health and to keep diseases away followingboth personal and environmental hygiene practices. Cleanliness is a vital element essential for a healthy and happy life.
There is a common saying that cleanliness is equal to godliness. Clean body, clean mind and clean surroundings helps one to lead a peaceful and prosperous life. Being clean physically also helps us to be mentally happy. When one is clean, they are able to concentrate better on their activities.A clean person also keeps to maintain a good hygiene. Hygiene and neatness reduce exposure to germs.
Besides personal cleanliness environmental cleanliness also plays an important role in being healthy. Sometimes the environment can also be a source of diseases due to lack of cleanliness. Drinking water contaminated with Vibrio Cholerae causes the deadly disease Cholera. This is the best example for a disease caused by the lack of clean water resources. A clean environment refers to clean air, clean water and clean energy. Basically, a clean environment is one that is void of any form of pollution and its effects. A clean environment ensures the continual existence and survival of all life on Earth. Cleaning the environment also protects unique ecosystems and prevents the extinction of endangered species.
Cleanliness is the way to godliness and godliness is the way to balance mind, soul and body. Being clean is the mean to keep ourselves physically and mentally clean. Being clean also helps us to keep ourselves safe when there are outbreaks of viral diseases like Nipah and Corona.
Corona virus has attacked us globally. Now we are very much taught to clean our hands frequently using soap and water/sanitizer, to cover our mouth using tissue while coughing or sneezing, and to wear a face mask while travelling. In fact, these are the cleanliness habits that must be adapted as a part of our lives, now to resist the corona virus attack and also to fight against a lot more of such viral attacks in the future. Prevention is better than cure. Preventing ourselves from deadly diseases is better than cure. Let us take the advice of Benjamin Franklin who rightly said that ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure ‘.
