OUR ENVIRONMENT Environment means natural world and it's surroundings,the air,the water and the earth. It can be biotic or abiotic things. It plays a vital role in healthy living of human beings. Envirornment is the most important resource for life. It is a home for us. It is all that provides us shelter,food,water,companionship and air. A clean environment is very necessary to have a peaceful and healthy life. But our environment is getting dirty day by day because of some negligence of human beings. It is very important to take care of our environment because our health and our survival on the earth directly depends on the health of environment. Any kind of pollution which is causing damage to environment is equally bad for whole humanity. It is our collective and individual responsibility to preserve and tent to the world in which we all live. The environment and the economy are really both sides of the same coin. If we cannot sustain the environment we can't sustain development. Humans are considered to be the most intelligent creatures on earth who are able to learn new things in the universe which can lead them to the technological advancement. It goes without saying that there are many benefits in technological development for economy but it also destroys our environment. Kerala is a consumer state which consumed raw material that resulted in the reduction in non renewable resources and accumulation of waste materials. Increase in population coupled with a rapid urbanisation, industrialisation and consumerism had lead to extensive pollution of air,water and lead to global warming and climatic change. Due to heavy rainfall in the monsoon season severe flood effected Kerala. All this climatic variations are due to change in global environment caused by human's action. Damage to Western ghat made Kerala's flood worst. Experts says if destruction condinue unchecked future flood will bring bigger disaster. The cause of severe floods occurred in Kerala are low pressure,heavy rain dicharges,land slide etc. All these are due to environmental imbalance caused as a result of human activities. The spreding of epidemics and pandemics like Corona in a rapid manner may due to contaminated environment by humans. We are in this together do the right things and protect the world. We should contribute everyday to the preservation of our natural environment. We should be sure that technological advances would never disturb the ecological balance of the earth. Today a lot of international summits,conferences and presentations are held to deal with recycling of waste, treatment of water and soil contamination. We should always remember that environmental pollution is an incurable disease. It can only be prevented. The simple things we can do to protect the earth are reduse,reuse and recycle the things you throw away to nature. We should conserve water for the protection of our environment. The less water we use,the less run off waste water that eventually end up in ocean. We should help others to understand the importance and value of our natural resources. Buy less plastic and use long lasting energy efficient light bulbs which reduce greenhouse gas emission. Choose non toxic chemicals in the home so that we can prevent sending of such chemicals into our water ways. Most of all plant a tree which provide food and oxygen. They help to save energy,clean the air,reduce global warming and help to prevent adverse climatic change.
