Corona viruses are a type of virus which have a genetic material, a protein
coat, a lipid coat and some protein spikes stretching out of the outer membrane in
common. Since viruses cannot multiply or grow outside a living cell, they are
treated on the border line of living and non living matter. There are a numerous
types of corona virus – from which causes common flu to deadly diseases. SARS
Coronavirus, MERS Coronavirus and novel Coronavirus are examples for it. Novel
Coronavirus is causing COVID-19 and the death of numerous human lives. It was
first discovered in 2019 in Wuhan, China.
Like novel Coronavirus, a new type of virus emerges from the existing
one. Then one question emerges-How is it possible? When a virus injects its
genetic material to the host cell, ribosome of the cell confuses virus’ DNA with the
DNA of the cell. As a result, it starts duplicating the virus’ DNA producing thousands
of viruses. According to Charles Darwin, a mistake caused by the ribosome while
duplicating causes a change in the DNA composition which results in the
emergence of a new virus. The pathway of novel Coronavirus may be the same.
As it was discovered recently, it will take time for doctors to produce
preventive vaccines. Or else, the human body will produce an antibody by itself to
fight against the novel Coronavirus.
