<tr><td colspan="2" class="diff-side-deleted"></td><td class="diff-marker" data-marker="+"></td><td style="color: #202122; font-size: 88%; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px 1px 1px 4px; border-radius: 0.33em; border-color: #a3d3ff; vertical-align: top; white-space: pre-wrap;"><div><ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">ഒരു കാലത്ത് വിരലിലെണ്ണാവുന്ന അക്ഷരജ്ഞാനികൾ മാത്രമുള്ള ഒരു കുഗ്രാമമായിരുന്നു പാതിരിക്കോട്. അക്കാലത്ത് വിദ്യയുടെ മഹത്വം തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ ഉദാരമനസ്കരുടെ സഹായത്താൽ 1925 ൽ പാതിരിക്കോട് സ്കൂൾ പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചു. മലബാർ ഡിസ്ട്രിക്റ്റ് ബോർഡിന്റെ കീഴിൽ പാതിരിക്കോട് ബോർഡ് ഹിന്ദു സ്കൂൾ എന്ന പേരിലാണ് ഈ വിദ്യാലയം അറിയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത്. കാപ്പാട്ട് കുഞ്ഞികൃഷ്ണൻ നായർ സ്വന്തം സ്ഥലത്ത് നിർമ്മിച്ചു നൽകിയ ഓലഷെഡ്ഡിലാണ് സ്കൂൾ പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചത്. ശക്തമായ കാറ്റിലും മഴയിലും സ്കൂൾ കെട്ടിടം തകർന്നു വീണപ്പോൾ ശ്രീമാൻ കണ്ടമംഗലത്ത് മാത്തുക്കുട്ടി സ്വന്തം വീട് സ്കൂൾ നടത്തുന്നതിനായി വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു. രക്ഷിതാക്കളും നാട്ടുകാരും ചേർന്ന് മാസങ്ങൾക്കകം സ്കൂളിന് കെട്ടിടം പണിതു നൽകി.[[ജി.എൽ.പി.എസ്.പാതിരിക്കോട്/ചരിത്രം|കൂടുതൽ അറിയാൻ]]</ins></div></td></tr>

<tr><td colspan="2" class="diff-side-deleted"></td><td class="diff-marker" data-marker="+"></td><td style="color: #202122; font-size: 88%; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px 1px 1px 4px; border-radius: 0.33em; border-color: #a3d3ff; vertical-align: top; white-space: pre-wrap;"><div><ins style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">1955 ൽ സ്കൂൾ നിർത്തലാക്കാൻ ഡിസ്ട്രിക്റ്റ് ബോർഡ് തീരുമാനിച്ചപ്പോൾ അതിനെ ചെറുത്ത് തോൽപ്പിച്ച് സ്കൂളിനെ നിലനിർത്തി. പിന്നീട് ഏറെക്കാലം വാടക കെട്ടിടത്തിലാണ് സ്കൂൾ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചത്. 2001 ൽ എടപ്പറ്റ പഞ്ചായത്ത് സ്കൂൾ കെട്ടിടവും 50 സെന്റ് സ്ഥലവും വിലയ്ക്ക് വാങ്ങി. കാലാകാലങ്ങളിൽ ഈ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ പുരോഗതിക്കു വേണ്ടി നാട്ടുകാരുടെ അങ്ങേയറ്റത്തെ സഹായ സഹകരണങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നതും സ്മരണീയമാണ്. ഒട്ടേറെ ബാലാരിഷ്ടതകൾ തരണം ചെയ്ത് ഭൗതികവും അക്കാദമികവുമായ മികവു പുലർത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് മേലാറ്റൂർ ഉപജില്ലയിലെ മികച്ച ഒരു വിദ്യാലയമായി ഈ സ്ഥാപനം തലയുയർത്തി നിൽക്കുന്നു. കടന്നു പോയ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ നിരവധി വ്യക്തികൾ ഈ വിദ്യാലയത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ആദ്യാക്ഷരം കുറിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഉന്നതങ്ങളിൽ എത്തിച്ചേർന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. പൂർവ്വ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളായ പലരും നിയമ പാലകരായും അദ്ധ്യാപകരായും ഡോക്ടർമാരായും മറ്റു പൊതു രംഗങ്ങളിലും സേവനം ചെയ്തവരും സേവനം തുടർന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവരുമായ ഈ വിദ്യാലയത്തിന്റെ സന്തതികൾ നിരവധിയാണ്.</ins></div></td></tr>
