"ഞങ്ങളും കൃഷിയിലേക്ക് " എന്ന ആഹ്വാനവുമായി കൃഷിയുമായി താല്പര്യമുള്ള ഒരുപറ്റം വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും അധ്യാപകരും തോട്ടം ഒരുക്കുന്നതിൽ വ്യാപൃതരായി. പി. ടി.എ യുടെയും പുതുപ്പറമ്പ് പാടശേഖരസമിതിയുടെയും കൃഷി ഓഫീസറുടെയും ഉപദേശ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ  കൃഷി ഒരുക്കുന്നതിൽ പ്രചോദനമായി.  സ്കൂളിന്റെ സമീപത്ത്  20 സെന്റ് സ്ഥലത്താണ്  കൃഷി ഒരുക്കിയത്. വിഷ രഹിതമായ പച്ചക്കറി സ്കൂൾ ഉച്ചഭക്ഷണത്തിൽ ലഭ്യമാക്കുക എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശത്തോടെ തീർത്തും ജൈവവളങ്ങൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് കൃഷി നടത്തിപ്പോരുന്നത്.   കുട്ടികളിൽ കൃഷിയോട് ആഭിമുഖ്യം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനും കാർഷിക ബോധം വളർത്തുന്നതിനുംഈ പദ്ധതിയിലൂടെ സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കഴിഞ്ഞവർഷം എടരിക്കോട് ഗ്രാമപഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച കാർഷിക സ്കൂൾ,ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച കുട്ടി കർഷക  അവാർഡ് ജിഎച്ച്എസ്എസ് പുതുപ്പറമ്പിന് ലഭിച്ചു എന്നതും അഭിമാനർഹമാണ്. അത്യാധുനിക സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ സമ്മാനിച്ച ഏറ്റവും നൂതനമായ കൃഷി രീതിയാണ് Precision farming (സൂക്ഷ്മ കൃഷി).
